I’m waiting as well!

According to betterthandiamond.com they are hoping to have them for sale to countries that are not on the Banned List some time in 2012 (hopefully Spring/summer).

If you live in any of these countries you won’t be able to purchase the amora gem and have them shipped to you until 2015 or until they kick out the patent.

  1. AUSTRIA
  2. Belgium
  3. SWITZERLAND

I know BTD are currently working on getting Australia and Canada to review the patent on C&C Moissanite.

Check out this thread:

If you live in a “banned” country then you always have the option of getting them to ship it to someone you know in a non-banned place and then get that person to forward it to you.

Lucky for me, where I live is not on the banned list Laughing

Whatever you do, don’t have it shipped to India. Customs there are a bunch of crooks. 2 months after ordering – and $720 cad in duties, an affidavid later.. i still don’t have my AG.

@spw2373:  Just an update, i have now recieved my amora gem after nearly 2.5 months as i had, had them shipped to India. While the shipping, customs process was a nightmare and i DO NOT recommend India as a routing destination… the gem is absolutely beautiful!

@golddie123:

Have you read BTD’s update on the new Ultra AG? It seems like they have now pulled AGs off the shelves and they are reperfecting the cut. @spw I would feel horrible for you if you went through all of that nonsense and weren’t happy with the product.. I am glad you like it! But I fear there will be some backlash now that they pulled old stock and are redoing the whole thing… what about those that went through all that trouble to get the stone and are unhappy?

@FutureDrAtkins:  OMG this is news to me πŸ™  After being addicted to Less’s updates on the Amora Gem and reading them every Friday; I stopped after i had placed my order. This is the first time i’m hearing about the ULTRA gem. I’m devestated that after ALL that trouble and having paid nearly 45% more in duties to get it that they have pulled the amora just to replace it with a better version. Although i’m pleased to see that they have a buy back or buy up program.. I’m pretty sure thats just going to be more $$ out of my pocket. I wish they would just swap it for me just for having gone through 2.5 months of torture. BUT the problems Indian customs caused me is at no fault of BTD. πŸ™

ahh what to do…

its definately bitter sweet for me now.. which is not the way i had expected to feel towards my AG.

@FutureDrAtkins:  Wow, that’s pretty crappy for everyone who had to jump through hoops to procure the first generation! And so soon after the first ones were releaed, too. :S

@FutureDrAtkins:  Less answered your question today.  It looks like those who already have an AG will be able to trade in or upgrade to the ultra cut AG once they are fully stocked.

@NovaRising:  The thing is no one saw the new AG yet either. They are obviously still tweaking the product whilst “test marketing” it on pretty much real customers who are buying into the “ultimate ” gem. I think all the tweaking should have happened prior to the release.

@sparkletiger:  I completely agree.  But Less did say they wanted to make these changes due to the response from past customers, customers who wanted more Fire.  Now of course I was one of the prospective customers who wanted the fire to match diamonds and not exceed it.   Less went from calling this new cut the Amora Gem High Fire to the Ultra Cut Amora…so who knows?  At this point we have money set aside for my upgrade but we may need to continue adding to it incase this new gem is not for me and I’d have to go the diamond route once my asha is kuput.

@NovaRising:  The original product that those customers bought into was all about more fire, more scincilation , etcetera . That was not what they bought. Obviously BTD didn’t get the H &A cut right with AG, as it lacks performance. Diamonds do not. I feel this is all wrong. I am not yet sure about this product and there certanly is a HUGE gap between the marketing and the product . They are trying to bridge that gap with announcing “Ultra Cut” and we will see what that is like. Not that I will be buying even if it is any good. I am going to see what C&C are coming out with as they are very close to announcing Hearts and Arrows Moissy. I trust them more, cause I love my Moissy.

@NovaRising:

@sparkletiger:

I still am excited about the the AG as a gem stone as it really will be my forever stone, provided  this new “ultra AG” has the properties I’m looking for. However, at times BTD doesnt come across as the most competent company. I’m sure well appreciate the open ear they’ve had regarding the lack of fire. However, like you said ST, this should have been worked out before, and not “tested on the numerous customers who have spent hundrends, if not thousands of dollars on not only the gem, but obtaining it.

As someone who still plans to get one within this first half of this year, it does worry about the continued R&D and possibly upgrades/modifications to the gem, esp after the purchase has been made. Agh! I wish Moissys captivated me more, lol.

I also hope Less comments on this wholeseller issue too. I find it a bit unreasonable to have your wholesellers purchase out of the same stock your indidvual customers do. Having inventory disappear so likely is quite disheartening…I again like that we have an inside perspective (being on the forums and all), but I at times feel it’s a double ended sword for BTD…There’s a fine like btwn customer satfiscation and giving them  too much insight!

@spw2373:  Ay yai yai!! I’m sorry I was the bearer of bad news πŸ™ πŸ™

Now that you do have your AG, can you inundate us with photos??? You said you like it, so honestly that is all that matters! What are your thoughts on it’s fire??
