Having had a moissanite before that I did not love, we decided to give Amora a try. (The first one was unenhanced.) We purchased the stone loose so that I could put it through the paces of different lighting. WE LOVE IT. I am returning it tomorrow afternoon to have it set into my engagment ring! Here are a few photos of my 1.5ct, 7.5mm Amora moissanite…

Top view under yellow-ish lighting indoors

Same lighting

Again, same lighting. The table of the stone is reflecting the black velvet (it’s not concave, as it appears if you look closely)

Same lighting, reflecting the BRIGHT AQUA color of my cell phone inches from it

Reacting to the stone of the fire pit and the bright green grass

In direct sunlight on a shiny surface (brushed stainless steel of the grill’s table attachment). Hard to photograph this one… the camera didn’t want to focus on the brightness of the white dot in the center! 😉

In partial shade

In the shade with my back to the sun

I TRIED AND TRIED to make the stone show something other than white, lol! I took it in bathrooms with green walls and no windows, waited for cloudy days, etc. It DOES react to the environment and will reflect colors, but it does NOT show warmth or moodiness like the unenhanced stones can.

The M&Co website rates them as H or I. The card I got with mine certified it as G.

If anyone would like to see it under certain conditions before I send it back tomorrow afternoon (to be set into my engagement ring!), please let me know! I hope this has helped somebody! 🙂

I have a diamond. I didn’t know about moissanite when we got engaged, but if I had, I would have suggested it to DH to save some money. I adore my diamond, but I would have been just as happy with a moissy. I plan on getting one for a RHR some day.
