Hello everyone, like so many of you here I have absolutely fallen in LOVE with the Dahlia from Amsale, but there is just no way I can afford to buy it…so I have decided to have one made by a wedding dress seamstress where I live.
What I want to know from you guys who have been lucky enough to try this on or see it (I live in South Korea and the store doesn’t carry the blue label collection), what material is it made of?
I know the dress is silk taffeta, but is the bodice made from the same material? And what did they use for the flower pattern on the dress? Is is the same material as the dress itself or is it ribbon pleated like flowers?
From the pictures it looks like they used the silk taffeta for the bodice and the skirt? But I can’t seem to figure out what they made the flowers from…
Anybody willing to help a girl out?

This is taken from their website:
Strapless Taffeta gown with shirred bodice and natural waist. Skirt is detailed with hand-pleated Taffeta floral embroidery
Here is a link to a wedding where the bride’s mother made her version of the dress.

Have you seen that Watters has one just like that? It’s part of their WToo Collection. It’s a gorgeous dress. I tried it on at a trunk sale!

will you be in the states anytime soon? One of my bridesmaids is from Korea (my fiance is Korean) and we were in Seoul in Dec-Jan and I was thinking I would go to the Amsale in Seoul with her to order her bridesmaid dress (all of my girls are wearing amsale bridesmaid gowns) but I think it was going to be way more expensive so I got it from a salon in the states and then brought it with me to korea. if you’re going to be in the states perhaps you could order it and then have amsale new york send it to amsale in korea. (or if youre not, maybe amsale in seoul could measure you and you could just call in your measurements to amsale new york, order it, and have it shipped).

Thanks everyone, you guys are SO helpful 😉
I went to the Seoul store again and they had it this time!!! It is even more beautiful in real life than on the pictures. No way I can try it on though because in Korea I’m considered ‘big size’ ;(
Either way, not coming to the states any time soon unfortunately…BUT the explanation from the site of the material used will come in handy. I looked at the WToo one, it’s a bit too shiny for my taste, but still really beautiful.

@janine.louw: It’s not as shiny as the pictures show. I ordeedr wtoo camilla a few weeks ago and it is aboslutley gorgeous. I think it would be worth it for you to take a look at it if you can.

I live in South Korea. I went to the Amsale store in Seoul and tried on the Dahlia. The have it in both Ivory and Caffe. I bought the Dahlia- the store owner will give you the American Price if your foreign and not the Korean price with the heft duty!
