For $1k, I’d find a really good seamstress and have them recreate it.  You can even have a removable skirt to go from the long to shorter for the reception.  It’s not a complicated dress to make, most of the money will go to the fabric.

I agree. A good seamstress can replicate that.

@Lacelibs:  Yeah, it felt too tight on the back of my legs – it looked – wow – I remember staring at myself in the mirror in that one for a bit because it made me look curvy – when I am literally a shapeless stick… but yeah, I didn’t feel like I could last dancing in it all night long.  The next one I tried (and came  thisssssssclose to buying was this one, which gave me the same look up top but was MUCH more comfortable walking and booty-shaking in – she was going to add a one-shoulder to it, but I ended up liking another dress just a bit more:

Since you have awhile, I’d wait and hunt like crazy to find it used. You might be able to get it at a steal.

I LOVE Amsale – all of my girls are wearing Amsale bridesmaids dresses.

I dont know if this is helpful, but Nordstrom just got an Amsale line called Nouvelle Amsale that looks to be exclusively theirs. It also looks like the prices are way less than regular Amsale: http://shop.nordstrom.com/c/nouvelle-amsale-lookbook?campaign=0423brideshopstory2

I dont know if all of the gowns are in that look book, but maybe you should call them and see.

This is an old thread, but the OP’s other thread was just topped and I thought I’d post.

I got an Amsale from Vows, one of the many sample gown stores that are out there.  It was significantly less as a sample than at full price.
