Okay girls, I have a slightly OCD question for those of you who have an eye for decoration… I’ve got 4 long banquet tables (two 6’x2′ tables pushed together) that I’m working on decorating, and am needing advice. I’ll be having these really tall baby’s breath topiaries on candelabras for centerpieces and am planning to have a forest of pillar candles running down the center of each table. The banquet tables are interspersed with rounds, so it won’t be just 4 banquet tables in a row. I’m wondering: should I…
1. Have one big centerpiece in the middle of each 12′ table and then flank it with two candelabras (they’re beautiful and you can see under them–I like this idea because our room will be really dark and I’m hoping the candelabras will give it a really romantic light)
2. Have two big centerpieces and then do something really short in the middle and on either end? This will be about $250 more expensive, and I don’t know if it’s worth the cost.
What do you ladies think?

Just based on a mental picture, I think 12′ would be pretty long to have only one tall centrepiece in the middle…
Have you done a mock up of both options? It might help you gauge whether or not it would look right… what if you did votive candles/something cheaper along the rest of the table, just to give the other end-of-the-table guests something in front of them?

I’m not the most “decor-savvy” Bee, but I will tell you we had long tables like that and did have two centerpieces per table because of the long length. Good luck in figuring it out! 🙂

I would almost do three smaller centerpieces. You ALWAYS want an odd number in decorating. Maybe you could reduce the size and cost of your original tall centerpiece and do 3 smaller versions for the same price?

Yeah, I see what you girls are saying… The candelabras are pretty tall–maybe 3 inches shorter than the centerpiece, so it would be pretty much like there would be three big pieces and then stuff along the bottom as well… now wondering if I should just go with two pieces! Do you girls think it’ll be too dark? Our room is almost entirely candlelit…
