My fiance and I met on e-harmony a little over a 3 and a half years ago.
After being to a million bars and going on some truly awful dates, I decided to just sign up for e-harmony for a few months. I went on bunch of date and had little to no success. I had one more day until my subscription expired and I had one more match to look at. So I looked at his picture and thought, “hmm… he’s a good looking guy”. So we started communicating through the website then though instant messenger (This is when AIM was still the cool thing to do, I’m sure it would be facebook now). After a couple of weeks of getting to know each other we decided to meet up. I still had not heard his voice at this point. But figured… Hey if worst comes to worst, it will be free dinner and drinks.
My train come into Penn Station and I walk up the steps and started walking down 7th Ave. I saw this really good looking guy looking at me.. I was thinking please let this be the guy! And it was. J and I went to dinner and drinks and we had the most amazing time. I didn’t want to leave!
My whole ride home I kept thinking about the amazing time we had and how I want to do it again.. When I got home I sent him an IM that said “I had a really good time, I hope you don’t think this is too forward but would you like to go out again soon”. thank god he answered YES! We spent the next 5 days hanging out every night together until he started his new job! It was awesome..
And that sealed the deal… Now here we are and he finally proposed (I tried not to nag too much)
This is how he proposed
This is a little monster (Domo) we hide around the house on each other. I often find it in the fridge or shower and I’ll hide it in is lunch bag or underwear drawer. One morning I was making the bed and Domo was sitting on my pillow I laughed and said that Domo was on my pillow. J was just looking in though the door with a silly look on his face. So I looked back down at Domo and there was the ring ( the one we had seen at a store months and months earlier and fell in love with) sitting around his arm.
Here’s the ring not on the monster but on my finger. It’s an antique from 1917 with other people’s initials inside. I love that there is a story behind this ring.
Did anyone else meet online?

Darling Husband and I did, we met on Match.com, it was right before I was about to end my membership and I had only been on bad dates, but low and behold, he emailed me a couple times and then we finally met, and it went from there!

We did! Although for me, my FH was the ONLY one I was interested in meeting from eharmony, and no one else. He was my first eharmony date, and also my last. We’ve been together now for 4 years, and we’re getting married next month. One thing he refuses to do is an actual commercial.:)
I think he went on a few more dates than I did, and struck out with all of them. I’m so glad he chose me though. He’s such an amazing person, and we have so much fun together. I can’t imagine life without him, and I hope our union remains a strong one for many years to come.

I met my FH on eharmony too! Our stories are so similar……after deciding to invest a mere $60 & saying to myself “I’ll try anything for $60, I met G one week before my subscription ended.

I just have to say 1) I’m not one to comment on proposal stories, but that is a very cute story, congrats! and 2) I LOVE everything about your ring – both the look and the fact that it’s from 1917.

My FH and I met on plentyoffish.com I just about to take the profile down cus I was just tired of coming up empty handed but then I seen his profile. He had this goofy picture of a pomaranian dog (sorry for spelling) sitting on his shoulder and he had a weird look on his face. I was like “humm he could be interesting!” I emailed him and shortly after that he emailed me back with all his info…I guess my profile REALLY struck his fancy! LoL! He joked about how he almost broke his keyboard trying to reply to me on our first date! Our first date was not like other first dates I went on. He took me to a movie at the worst movie place there is…I hate the seats there! And then fed me tacobell afterward….Real romantic date right….but I didnt mind….I really liked him…he was different! And we have been together for almost 2 years. The funny thing is I knew the moment I saw him I was going to marry him.
Its funny that you have Domo that seems to have personality and show up in crazy spots because we have a teddy bear named Ned that does the same thing. I dont know if its our weird sense of humor or not but he is one funny bear. One day he was upside down on the couch and I text the FH with a picture of it and told him he was practicing he break dancing. Another time he bought my birthday present. The FH gave him the money and he bought it and signed the card while the FH was at work!
The funny thing is I am sure he will make an apperance at the wedding too….
Who knows he may show up in a tux and a top hat!
This is the birthday ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
And this is him giving me a back massage! ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
I asked the FH to and this is what happened!

Congrats! Mr. Tattoo and I met online in 1998 on yahoo chat! We were together until we were 21 and broke up. Then years later, he found me on Facebook!

@d_mari3: SO funny… so much like ours!!! Domo is going to be in our wedding.. Our ring bearers are going to carry him down the aisle instead of a pillow. The rings will be on his arms.

@Miss Tattoo: Wow I loves those types of stories!

We met online. 🙂 My Fiance saw the pic of Domo and thinks that was an awesome way to propose. 🙂

I didn’t meet my Fiance online, but I definitely tried it before him. This is way back when people thought you were “desperate” to try online dating and I was embarrassed to tell anyone that I was trying it. Now when people complain about not being able to meet anyone, I always suggest online dating! My brother is doing it and I just have a feeling he will be a success story. Congrats everyone!

We met on OkCupid.com. I was on for about 1 month, when I was bored one night and took off or loosened all my filters. (I think I kept on distance and really, really wide age filter) My Darling Husband popped up and I had to contact him. If my friends would’ve drawn a picture of my type, it would look like him.
I only went on one date other than him. We got married 2 years that month of when I contacted him.
I think anyone in this day and age that wants to find someone is a fool if they don’t try online dating!
