It still even surprises me that there ARE OEC moissys. I have an OEC diamond and I had a jeweler who was convinced those didn’t exist and wouldn’t test it for a moissy to confirm it was a diamond (it is. Had to take it to another jeweler who tested it with a diamond and moissy tester.)

Thank you! I am wanting to get an OEC from MoCo and getting a little worried about what OEC I might get – do you think they would let me see what they have? Not sure how that will work if I give my BF a custom link though…

It is even more important now that there is such limited stock. When I recently ordered the Adalia I picked my stone out from a video (which has its own limitations) and got a great one (it now has a new owner, who is loving it!) but I would not have been happy with some of them. I have had a few Moissanite OECs, ranging in size from 5mm to 8.5mm, and they have all been different. But, they were always hand picked either by me (ordering 2-3 stones, sending 1-2 back) or by a trusted vendor (eg. Beth when she was at Schubachs). I would not be happy with most of those stones in your OP! Maybe 1-2 out of the 6.

But OEC diamonds come in all different flavours too, some get darkening under the table, some are shallower and don’t look great in pictures but are so bright in real life, they all have different patterns, and so on. Keep in mind how they were cut and what lighting conditions they were cut for though. You can’t buy them by specs either, you really need to see them to know if they speak to you or not.

All my moissanite OECs are now in new homes and I hope the new owners are happy I was picky when picking each of them out, ha.

CinqueTerre:  That one is very snowflake like! It will look great as a pendant.

RayKay:  Is Beth no longer at Schubach’s? I worked with her a while back and she was lovely to work with.

serotonin:  My understanding was she had moved on, but perhaps I misheard. She was/is great to work with though!
