I LOOOOVE casseroles.  They’re probably my favorite type of dish.

I’ll be trying this stuffing casserole for Thanksgiving this year:

A Virtual Thanksgiving (Recipe: Bread Stuffing with Seasonal Fruits & Herbs)

In the past I’ve made this broccoli casserole with great success, (I made some changes to the ingredients because “jar processed cheese sauce” is not something I want to eat or serve.  This one was very homey and cozy.

@ieatunicorns:  North American casseroles seem pretty different from British casseroles.

Lamb stovies is one of my favourites, especially with plenty of rosemary and black pepper.

@SpecialSundae:   a casserole is the name of the pot it is cooked in. A casserole is cooked in a heavy stoneware or cast iron pot in the oven and a stew is cooked on the hob and generally doesnt have such a long cooking time.

Copied from the other thread:

Darling Husband makes a good if slightly unhealthy one.  I don’t know the specific details because he makes it.  It has cut up chicken breast, broccoli, one can of cheddar cheese soup sauce, one can of cream of broccoli and croutons.

This is not a “casserole” per se, but has anyone ever had carrot soufflet? Delicious!

Casserole? Chicken broccoli mushroom… Similar to the one MrsMeNow posted.

I’ve never heard of a hash brown casserole until this thread. It doesn’t sound very appetizing.
