@Bazinga:  Possums don’t get rabies.

Baby possums were my favourite animal when I volunteered at a wildlife rehab center.  Maybe because they didn’t come in often and it was just a nice change not to have bunnies all the time.  They were so funny if you would try and clean the cage, and the whole litter of them would just sit there and hiss at you but not do anything.

Awwwwwwwww, so cute! I love baby animals.

Fiance rescued a baby squirrel that had fallen out of a tree in a neighbor’s yard. We cuddled it (it really liked my hair) and kept it warm while we debated keeping it or finding a rehabber. We called SO many rehabbers listed on the Michigan wildlife website, but most of them were closed??? We did finally find one lady, left her a message, and she called back and was happy to take him. She had a house full of orphaned animals, and three other baby squirrels, so that was cool. She said that her husband brought home a fox kit once and she got to take it to work with her. I need that job, haha.

I don’t think we get them up here, I’ve never seen one!  Cute!

lol I would have probably been too scared to get close though.  I would just be worried about getting bit!

@pixiecat  really? That’s good to know!

Holy crap then it was just one agressive crazy thing! I stepped on the porch in broad daylight and it was right around the corner and tried to bite me!

What an awesome rescue! He was so lucky you found and cared for his well-being.

That one is actually cute. Normally they freak me out because I’ve had one chase me up my front steps before. We have one out at our farm. He eats the cat food and my mom named him Oppie haha

awwww he’s so cute!! there used to be a possum that hung out on the fence in my mom’s backyard. he was only there in the early morning when it was still dark out. when she would let the dog out to pee, the dog would race over and bark at the possum. the dog is a little thing so couldn’t reach and the possum knew it. he would just sit there, teasing the dog. it was funny.

OMG so cute! I would have been hard pressed to take it to a rescue, but the fact my cat would want to lunch on him would be my reasoning.

Oh wow, I’ve never seen a one of those things! 😀 Are they the things that hang upside down by their tails?
