My friend has recently been engaged (YAY). But times are tough right now and her parents can’t contribute to the wedding costs right now…so they are just assuming they are paying for everything.
I am NOT familiar with Anaheim at all and the cost of reception venues there. Actually, I’m not familiar with the cost of reception venues other than Augusta and Savannah…
TOTALLY aware that things will be expensive where she is at, but I reallllllly want to help her out and find her a beautiful reception venue (if possible as close to $2000) that lets her pick her own catering as well (I think she’s determined to have BBQ! lol). I know this might be a stretch, but I’d love to hear your suggestions. This girl deserves a beautiful wedding and even though we haven’t met (she knows my Fiance bc her Fiance works with mine, and she heard about me and we haven’t stopped talking since, hahah) she has helped me with mine and has been a good friend to me.
ahhhhhh beeeees. help.

This is my blog of the recap: http://auntpatchy.blogspot.com/2011/10/wedding-recap-pic-video-heavy.html
My daughter used Cabrillo Beach Bathhouse in San Pedro about 35 miles from Anaheim. It was about $1700 for everything including all the personnell they make you use. The venue itself was $600.
My daughter looked at this venue in Huntington Beach. It’s a barn, but everything is done outside. It does have a kitchen and you can use ouside catering.
We used Stonefire Grill in Fountain Valley. A great choice for either venue. Bar-be-que and about $17 per person for the options we chose and there was a ton left over. That included the servers that also cut the cake.

We’re having the ceremony and reception at The French Estate in Old Town Orange (just a 10 minute drive from Anaheim). It’s a private estate (and historic home) that’s all a la carte. Incidentally, we’re having Lucille’s BBQ do the catering for our wedding there next month. Rates are reasonable too.
When is her wedding?

I second the French Estate! It was our runner-up venue and is beautiful and reasonable!
