MsCandyGirl :  I am sorry to hear this but I just wanted to let you know that one of my neighbors had a little girl years ago who was born with multiple heart defects (mostly holes in her heart) that required open heard surgery at birth and for a good 5+ years after her birth. She is a gorgeous thriving little teenager now & you’d never know by looking at her how much she had to deal with back then! Wishing you & your family the same!

Hugs to you bee! What a beautiful name she has. I would check your area for a support group. Stay strong and lots of prayers for you and your family.

I’m a CHOP Grandma, and I believe that once you meet your precious Lucy all of the problems will become manageable.

You are truly “helping” her just by taking good care of yourself and maintaining positive thoughts about her future. It is really a blessing that you received her diagnosis early enough to learn all about her situation and what you can do to take good care of her when she gets here.

The people whom you will meet at CHOP are ANGELS. My wonderful children were taught all they needed to know to assure them that they could care for their beautiful baby. Ask questions when they occur to you, listen carefully, and take notes.

Wishing you a wonderful, WONDERFUL outcome, and cyberhugs and BLESSINGS to sweet Lucy!

I’m cheering on baby Lucy. I look forward to hearing more of her amazing journey. Lots of love to you OP. You’re clearly her number one fan, she’s truly blessed with all the love and support she’s getting. Look after yourself.

MsCandyGirl :  My niece had heart surgery after birth at CHOP.  She’s a totally healthy, happy, funny, smart, sweet 7 year old now.  They really are one of the best in the world.  She was being watched because they were debating between surgery in utero or after birth, but she was ok to wait until she was born.

You are all in very, very, very good hands.  I wish the best for you!

Hi bee! My best friend’s son has hypoplastic left heart syndrome. She had a fetal intervention, and baby had open heart surgery when he was born. It’s been a lot of hospital stays and medications, but he is the happiest little boy you could ever meet. He just celebrated his first birthday in October!! I know she has a lot of other heart moms on her Facebook if you would like to add her for support/information just message me! I know there a lot of Facebook groups as well that she is a part of.

Like others have said, babies are a lot tougher than you would think!
