Awww. I’m pretty sure I’ll be feeling the same way after the wedding. Your recap post is great! I love your colors!

You have any tips for those who are still planning?

I think I understand how you feel.  I know I’ll miss the day but I will have so many other things to plan, like Christmas that I won’t have time to really get too nostalgic…. I hope.

We got married on the 19th and I’m feeling the exact same way.  Maybe the hardest part is that I didn’t expect to so wasn’t at all prepared.  I don’t miss the planning, and to be honest we had a relatively low-key affair.  But what I do miss is how FAST it went, how it felt like there weren’t enough minutes in the day to stop and pause and soak it all in.  And I almost cried as my new husband unlaced my dress….my gorgeous dress that I felt so beautiful in (the most beautiful ever in my life) and am so sad that I’ll never wear it again.

I just said to my hubs yesterday, it’s like the feeling on Boxing day, multiplied by 1000.  Bleck.

All in all, it was a perfect day and we had a great time, as did our families and loved ones.  It was so great that I want to do it again.

@7monthbride:  That was the worst feeling taking off the dress at the end of the night. I started packing up my stuff and waited until the last possible moment. Now it sits cleaned and preserved in a box. 🙁

Most of us can relate to the post wedding blues. I had quite a bit of depression the few weeks after we got back from our honeymoon. Now I am finally feeling right again and looking forward to the next phase.

I think post-wedding blues are common….how could they not be, when so many of us look forward to this day, put so much effort into making it beautiful, making ourselves beautiful etc etc.  It ends up being such a wonderful day, who wouldn’t want to do it again? I know I do. Minus the cost, perhaps LOL.

Maybe whether or not you live together before plays a role too….for us, we’ve lived together and owned a home together for a few years. So after the wedding it was almost like, “Ok, back to real life now”.  Don’t get me wrong, I love my life and I love my husband and I loved my wedding.  But of course a bit of blues is pretty normal.

It’s been over a week now, and I’m back to work and starting to be fine….although I still want to wear my dress again! 🙂
