Try planning a wedding, renovating a bathroom, selling a house, working 60 hour weeks and going out of town every weekend. I think if I was just planning a wedding it would be less stressful.
What are some things, other than wedding planning, that are rendering your social life nonexistent?

@NotablySidedJP: SCHOOL. UGH.
Oh and leaf raking!

Paying off debt! All of our play money is going to reduce debt before the wedding. Good plan for the future… sucky for our social life right now!

FI’s insane law school workload.
Working on my organization’s annual event that is next week. After mailing out over 800 invitations, tracking down last-minute RSVPs and handling catering for over 150 people, planning my wedding will be a breeze (I hope!).
And of course, family obligations that take over parts or all of a weekend, including going to see my sister who is dealing with some mental health issues. Not that I MIND seeing my family, it just seems like we have something to do every single weekend that takes us out of town!

A couple months ago we were in the middle of closing on our first house. It was taking up every minute of our time it seemed with so much going back and forth from our bank to the seller’s attorney to our attorney, ugh. So glad it’s done with now.

@nber0815: I know what you mean. My family is 6 hours away. Not enough to not drive over, but enough to consume a weekend. Fiance just started a new job too, so he can’t take time off to help me with anything, no vacation built up yet.

Four kids – two in college, one in elementary school and one in middle school (combined with all of the their athletic endeavors taking up most weeknights and Saturdays).
Two full time jobs, with Fiance travelling Monday thru Friday every week for the last 3 months and for the foreseeable future.
Don’t forget the Holidays coming up!

Right now being pregnant is sucking the life out of my social life because I’m avoiding certain events so I don’t have to fake that I”m not drinking. I”m not quite far enough that I want to tell anyone else, we’re waiting for our first US appt.
It’s getting prety cold around here, we tend to travel a lot less during fall and winter so maybe things will calm down for you. Watch some Seahawks games and do some wedding crafts!

@Jen041815: Oh geeze, I forgot about the holidays! There are 10 kids in my family. Gift giving is never cheap. Haha.

I travel for work…every week. I am only “home” Friday – Sunday. That means I have to shove, Dr’s appts, errands, laundry, cleaning, paying bills, seeing family and friends, and all wedding planning into 3 days a week.
And Sunday only half counts because I have to fly out at like 3 pm.
Not to mention weekends when we go out of town to visit his family.

Grad school! This semester is insane! I’m really glad we picked a 2015 date for our wedding so I can do the bulk of the planning after I graduate.

Researches for my thesis, and working part-time. Plus, Fiance is extremely busy with his own academics so we barely get to spend time together. 🙁

@NotablySidedJP: Being a FT university student, working PT, volunteering PT, working around FI’s 60 hour work weeks, and participating in our friends’ wedding activities (we are at that critical 28-29 age where it seems like everyone we know is getting married)! Not to mention keeping up with both of our families who don’t live super close, but juuuust close enough where driving to visit is still feasible and expected on a somewhat regular basis (1 hour for one family, 3+ hours for the other). Not that we don’t enjoy spending time with our families, but it’s just a lot when we’re so busy!
That said, we are lucky and blessed to have such full lives, I’d much rather be busy than bored! Oh and – fantasy football. Addicted.

@NotablySidedJP: I was planning a wedding, selling my house, moving into an apt (so downsizing from a 3 bedroom two bathroom home to a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom apt), and quitting my job with no other job already lined up. It was horrible, but I made it through and am better for it!
Now my stressors are few and far between.

@NotablySidedJP: school eats my time. It is a ravenous time hungry beast. We’re engaged but I’m not even bothering plannin until april! I barely have enough time I breathe as it is 😉
