@shevon: there are a lot of companies that sell exhibition carpet (cord carpet) in a huge range of colours (pretty much anything). It’s used a lot in marquees too.  It’s about £1-£3 per meter in the UK (- my SO works in events).  It might be an expense but it would be a shame to change venues just because of the carpet.  I wouldn’t know where to send you in Cape Town but no doubt the venue will know of someone.  Also, red might not go so awfully will earthy tones, perhaps you could do autumnal / fall colours? Just some ideas.

@shevon: honey i have NEVER walked into a wedding venue and thought oh the venue carpet does not match the wedding colours oh what a darn shame.

sorry but i aint looking at my feet. i am looking at the bride.

wow i dont think i would ever have even considered worrying about the carpet.

that venue is stunning so if you love it go for it

pick your worries wisely cause unless you won the lottery changing the carpet is just off the radar

go with what you want and dont be dictated to by a carpet lol

I think earth tones, in more of the fall colors, a lot more browns, tans, will look really nice in that venue.  It’s very pretty.

I think whatever you like will work out. I’m thinking of doing black and white in a barn setting. I have been worried about it clashing, but I think it’ll be fine.
