wow…her email was beyond insulting and ridiculous!

kudos to your husband for standing by you. 🙂 Sometimes, that’s all that matters.

@ JewishBride: Ha ha, thanks!  And I hope you enjoyed the non-tube steak 🙂

So . . . after the wedding night, uh, festivities, you should burn all pictures of you in your “virginal” wedding dress because it is “unseemly” after the wedding?  Hmm . . . I think she might have a problem with a lot of our Facebook profiles!

You really have been an amazingly good sport about this! Each of your updates gets more and more bizarre (and yes, entertaining).  I really hope she comes to her senses soon–but it doesn’t sound too promising at the moment.  I just hope she never gets to that “really mean” stage she mentioned (although I can’t begin to imagine what that would be).  I almost wish I could be facebook friends with her, although I’m sure she’d let me have it for my photos 🙂

And congrats on the new job!

OMG!!  As I was reading this, I kept thinking of my Mother-In-Law.  This is something she would write to me.

I’m sorry that you had to get an email like this.

I’m glad you unfriended her. I would too.  (My Mother-In-Law and I are not friends on FB.)

I think she is losing it. She is an old lady right? Maybe a person may have bitter thoughts like that, who knows, but who puts them on paper and SENDS THEM?!! Wow. I think she is a lonely old lady, taking her boredom out on poor you. Shouldn’t she be happy that YOU ARE HAPPY to have married her precious nephew and are displaying the photos? WTF. Who on earth decided that 2 weeks was the appropriate amount of time for wedding photos and 7 weeks was a crime!?? Anyway, she is old. Crazy. Bored. And apparently, a little evil? Ignore. Continue with your marital bliss and try to avoid all conversations with her. In the future, if you are forced to be face to face with her, perhaps remind her, that maybe she is “losin it just a bit”?

I HAVE to ask – was she born here in the States or did she immigrate at some point in her life? Maybe this is some weird old jewish culture thing none of us have ever heard of … maybe?

(I’m all for giving people the benefit of the doubt)

Or maybe she’s bitter since she never married?

Wow.

Isn’t it funny how some people ‘demand respect’ when in fact it can only be earned?

Like your avatar by the way 😉

Do people actually call hot dogs “tubesteak”? Because I’ve only ever known that word to refer to a certain body part…

That email doesn’t even sound cruel or evil. It just sounds like random babble. What a loon! I’d have had a good laugh at it.

And homemade steak isn’t that expensive, in college or not.

Dude.  This is absolutely ridiculous.  First of all, 7 weeks is NOT too long to have a wedding picture as your facebook picture.  You’re newlyweds!  It’s also WAY too short of a time for her to draw the conclusion that you’ve “changed” or that you’ve cut off communication with her.  I’m sure y’all are busy adjusting to your new life together!  Those kind of transitions take a while!  Also, the steak/hot dog thing is just silly.  Clearly not provocative enough to cause her to erupt the way she did…there’s gotta be something else going on (I’m guessing, it’s all in her head).  I’m glad your husband is on your side, and I hope it all blows over soon!

What the crap? If everyone went by her logic, wedding photographers would all be out of a job!

“Aww… honey, look, it’s our wedding album!”

“Oh, please, that was 50 years ago. You mean you haven’t moved on yet?”

Ridiculous…

I’m curious about the part where she says he’s her heir.  Does she not have any kids?  If she is really thinking she’ll leave her stuff to your husband, she might be holding that over his head.  “You need to live your life as I see fit, or you won’t get my money.”
