Both my aunt and uncle AND my great-aunt and great-uncle share my wedding date. I knew that my aunt and uncle had the same date, but I didn’t realize my great-aunt and great-uncle were married on the same date too!
We want to do something to acknowledge their anniversaries at the reception.

Our best man’s 5th anniversary is on our wedding day and we are going to have their first dance song played and have the DJ do a little shout out. Would something like that work? The only thing I am worried about is that I don’t want it to turn into a dance with just them dancing, so I might have the DJ not necessarily say that that is their song, if that makes sense.

Have an anniversary dance, and have your great aunt and uncle start, then your aunt and uncle join them on the dance floor, then you and your husband, in order of how long you’ve been married?
Have an anniversary toast?
Ask each couple to make a speech?

Awww…we have a couple that will be married 5 years on our wedding day. They are just friends, not relatives. I wonder if I could get the dj to play there song??
I will be watching this thread for other ideas 🙂

I went to a wedding where the caterer brought out tiny cakes and the two couples(grandparents & great grandparents) cut and fed each other the cake. It was very sweet and as it was done much later than the bridal couple it took nothing away from their moment.

Instead of their first dance song, as you do have two couples to honor, you could play the Anniversary Waltz and have the DJ make an announcement.

I think a toast would be a nice way to acknowledge them without drawing too much attention to them. Say something about how they’ve been examples of how a good marriage should be and that you’re happy to share their anniversary etc.
Also, depending on the formality of the place, you could have their wedding pictures up somewhere with their wedding date on it. My wedding is at my house so our grandparents pictures will probably be on display just for fun.
