Did anyone get an anniversary band to go with their wedding set?
I have always wanted a second wedding band to go on top of my set. Originally, it was kind of generally accepted but not really talked about in our household that I would get one as a “push present” for our first child. I wanted to be able to say “My husband gave me this when I had our first baby!” Well, 9 months and 2 miscarriages later, it’s apparently going to be a long long time before I’ll get a push present. And at this point, with all of the hell that we’ve been through, I don’t even want it for that anymore. I just want a healthy full-term pregnancy, and that’s the best I could ever hope for:)
However, because I’ve had such a hard time these past few months, Darling Husband mentioned after a few cocktails that he’d like to maybe get it for me for our 1 year anniversary. Okay, he had a lot of cocktails – lol. But I think he just wanted to make sure I wasn’t super-attached to the idea of the band representing a baby. He knows I really want it, and I guess just wanted to give it to me.
I tried on a “similar” band at the jewelry store bc they didn’t have my wedding band in stock, but this is kind of what it would look like…Is it silly to do it for the 1st anniversary? And if you have an anniversary band, post pics of yours!!!
The band on the top is thicker…But you get the idea…
This is my set without the second band:
Better with our without? First anniversary too much? Do you have an anniversary band that you will post photos of?

I got an anniversary band for our first anniversary but its a wide stand alone RHR. I don’t think its to much though. The first anniversary is important. But I also think it should be something you & your husband talk about it. You can let him know you would love one for a anniversary & see if he thinks the first anniversary is to soon. Then go from there. 🙂 My husband knows I love jewelry in general. So what I usually get for anniversaries, birthdays & holidays is jewelry related unless I mention something else that I woud like. 😛
Here is mine:

Oh & also I love your set as is, GORGEOUS! But two bands wouldn’t be bad either. 😉

oh i love it with the 2 bands!!! But I could be biased because I have a band on either side of my Engagement Ring 🙂 In any case, I think it looks nice and balanced, and super sparkly!

I think a first anniversary is a great time for this. Some people feel that the first anniversary is early, but, if you are in the financial position that this would be comfortable and he wants to, I say go for it! In my experience, a lot of people don’t do things like this so early because of financial reasons, but there is no rule book. It looks great in the picture.

I think it looks really pretty with two bands. I am generally am not a fan of stacked sets but I think it’s dainty enough where it’s not too much.
I don’t think the 1st anniversary is too early. It’s never too early to get more diamonds 🙂 I didn’t get an anniversary band until my 10th!
I also did not get a “push present” either. I think I got a high-five and a “good job”. I know a lot of women that did, but more did not.

@Sweet.Sugar.Rose: Beautiful! I love the sapphires!
Thanks everyone for your advice! Financially, it’s okay, but I had never pictured it as a first anniversary band, it was to be my first child band, so I guess it’s just getting used to a new train of thought! I think it’s really sweet that he’s considering doing that for me, in light of my recent pregnancy difficulties. So hopefully on May 29, it’ll work out and I’ll get to have something to represent being married to my best friend for this past year:)

I always wanted a set with a band on each side of my engagement ring… It didn’t happen for the wedding, and I’ve fallen in love with my set! 🙂 But, I would love to have a matching band for the other side… I told my Darling Husband (FI at the time) that it was totally fine with just this one, but he told me he’d like to get me the other one eventually 🙂
I also love the idea of a *LESS-EXPENSIVE* right hand ring… I’d love to have a nice, fancy colored ring… Rather than the cheap $5 ones I buy all the time 🙂

What did you end up deciding? I say go for it! I received a 1 year anniversary band that matches my wedding band. I feel it makes the ring look symetrical and kind of “hugs” my e-ring. I had the anniversary band soldered to my e-ring and kept my wedding band separate so I can wear it on its own if I want.
