- Wedding: April 2014
My fiancé and I are high school sweet hearts. On our 7th anniversary I was done expecting him to propose to me. I was ready to live the long “girlfriend” life I thought he wanted. So when our anniversary came around, and we didn’t have too many plans. We went to breakfast, I didn’t get what I ordered, we walked around town amisily with nothing to do, went to see a movie that I was super excited to see but he ended up buying the wrong tickets and the movie I wanted to see already had their last showing, then we went to dinner (which we had to leave and go somewhere else because he didn’t make reservation for and there was a 3 hour wait). We ended up going to a very expensive restaurant on the Back Bay in Boston, spending $100 on just 2 meals.. We took a taxi home after because I was to exhausted to take the MBTA and I was in a really bad mood, and my feet hurt from a new pair of shoes I got that day. When we get home, we walk upstairs to our studio apartment and I plopped onto the bed. I said, “I’m sorry but I’m done for the day, I’m just going to fall asleep right here right now.” Nick said, “OK but he was a lot closer to me that what I thought. I turned around and he was standing there holding a smushed Kermit the Frog cupcake. I thought that was strange. He must have really wanted me to have it. So I took the plastic Kermit the Frog off of the cupcake and there was this shiny thing. It took me a second. I pulled it out then I just about through the cupcake at my fiancé. He grabbed the ring and the cupcake, got down on one knee (in-between my closet and bed) and asked me to marry him. I was sobbing at this point. I said YES then told him I feel like I’m going to throw up. This all happened at 11:59pm because he wanted to ask me on our anniversary but with my horrible attitude and pouting all day, I never gave him a chance to.. My crappy anniversary turned out to be an amazing and one of the most important days on my life.
