Our one year anniversary was in June. I wanted to do something that went with the traditional gift list (1 year is paper) so I got him concert tickets. I also got him a vintage camera for his collection.

our 1st anniversary is coming up in a little over a month!

i had browsed some paper gifts on etsy, but nothing really stuck out to me. one of our favorite artists, chris cornell, is coming to play a relatively small venue in our town 2 months after our anniversary. he suggested we buy 2 tickets and use them as “paper” gifts to one another. we shall see. (tickets are being purchased regardless…)

@pengoala:  the traditional 2nd anniversary gift is cotton. you can get him a nice golf shirt (that he will wear when he takes you out for dinner, of course), or maybe an embrodiered throw blanket with your wedding date on it, like this one:

I would love some suggestions for “cotton” themed gifts that my husband will appreciate! Last year for our 1st anniversary I had boudoir photos taken and made into an album for a paper themed gift… So that feels hard to top! I don’t think he would like anything monogrammed. He’s really into the Chicago Bears… Would buying a jersey or a shirt be okay?

Our anniversary is this week (Wednesday!) and we decided to not to phtsical exchanged gifts.

We just spent a lot on landscaping, we’re going away for the weekend to celebrate our anniversary (going to splurge on one hotel and a fancy dinner; camping the rest), and we need a new laptop next month.  With that said, I think that’s plenty of “gifts” so we’re not doing anything else.  I guess we can say I got him 3 tons of river rock and he got me 10 flats of vinca and 20 raspberry plants  LOL.

Last year for our first anniversary I got my Husband business cards and he got me concert tickets (Morrissey). We also took a trip to Salem, MA. This year for our second anniversary, I’m not sure what I’m going to get him yet. I will probably get him either a robe and boxers, or gloves. We are also taking a trip to New Orleans.

For our first anniversary, we went to London, Paris and Rome. For our second anniversary, I’m going to be 38 weeks pregnant… so I’m hoping not to give him a daughter. haha I have no idea what I’ll be able to do at that point, but anniversaries have always been a big deal for us, and I’m determined to continue having big celebrations.

We have given each other the landscaping gift as well.  I think I like it more than  I have one to share. My Dreamlines can sketch your gown and his suit. We love art, so this was perfect for us.

2 year is cotton. Check out Dreamlines wedding dress sketch. This is the best gift I have ever been given.

An anniversary sundial (a cool sun clock) is a good idea for any anniversary. You can find one online that sits on the window sill indoors and makes rainbows in the room when the sun shines. I had ours personalized with a poem he wrote for me when we were dating and a special date line that the time shadow follows every year on our anniversary. It is fun to watch the shadow get closer and closer to the line as our special day approaches…and hopefully it will help him never forget our anniversary!
