Okay so this is my last question and I will just bite the bullet and get this over with.
So I am 13 weeks and showing. I have about 5 flowy tops that I keep wearing in a rotating to try and hide the bump but have notices people are starting to look at my stomach.
My boss works for another division in another state. I see her every month or every other month depending on our schedule. She will be in my office on Thurs this week and feel like I just need to tell her because it’s better to tell her in person right? It wouldn’t be better to wait an tell her over a call would it?
So I feel like she should be the first to know because it’s made very clear I report into their office and not the office I work in every day. I planned on telling her Thurs (unless I chicken out) and telling the CEO of my division after. However I just found out that after today the CEO will be traveling for the next three weeks. Should I just tell him today?
I feel like as soon as I wear anything other than my few flowy tops that word will be out and I want to heads to know about it from me instead of word of mouth in the office.
So should I tell the CEO today and tell my boss of Thursday? Or does anyone else have another suggestion? And why do the people I report to have to be so high up 🙁

I think that as long as you don’t tell people UNDER your current boss first, there is no harm done. If you tell the CEO, then your direct boss that should be fine:) I always think that having all their subordinates knowing before them is what peeves some bosses.

I think that your plan sounds fine. I told my boss at 13 weeks. He already suspected long before it since we see each other everyday. He told our out of state supervisor because we’re preparing for projects before and after our fiscal year ends. He’s only told a few other coworkers as have I. I haven’t announced it to our team, non of which are local since I want to focus on getting as much done as I can before I go on maternity leave. Them knowning is secondary to me.

You could tell him today, perhaps ask him to keep it to himself until you have a chance to speak with your direct boss on Thursday and then take it from there to the rest of the office if you wish. Good luck and congrats! 🙂

Do you have to tell your CEO? I guess I find it a little odd that you need to tell him in addition to your direct boss. I would just tell your direct boss – that is who you report to.

Thank you girls!
@FutureKMM- If I didn’t tell him I think it would make things very odd. There are 5 seperate US entities a shared service division, and each entity has an HR manager present (that is my job at my site). I report into the head of the whole HR group who is in a different location. But at my location there is noone above me beside the CEO. So he’s sort of like my boss here, as I would indirectly report into him. Hope that makes sense.
