I was hoping someone could give me some information on annovulatory cycles. I know this can be a sensitive subject, and I’m not meaning to be rude.
I’ve been off BCP since Aug my period starting Aug 30. It looks like I didn’ ovulate, and I’m now having breakthrough bleeding, with spotting starting at CD 39 (OCt 7th)
Should I count this as mensus, and move on to cycle 2? It was light spotting yesterday, but today it’s bright red, and medium flow.
Can anyone tell me if they experienced the same coming off BCP, and went on to have normal cycles shortly after stopping BCP?
Is there anything else that I should be looking out for that might suggest PCOS or thyroid issues?

@Khumble: If it’s not just spotting and is consistent flow, I would take that as your period and move on to a new cycle.
I have had mostly annovulatory cycles since coming off the pill. Mine are due to PCOS, insulin resistance & wonky hormones, but it makes charting and cycle tracking very sporadic.
One person’s symptoms don’t always match another’s – so if you’re concerned, give it some time and then see your gyno. If you’ve JUST come off birth control, I would recommend tracking your cycle for a few months – it might come around on it’s own, and need a bit of time to regulate itself naturally. 🙂

Can you post your chart? That might help us see if it really is annovulatory or not.
Coming off BC is frustrating because you just don’t know what to expect! But I would definitely count today as CD1, cycle 2…

Either way, I’m going to give it some time, but want to ask the questions incase something is up. We’re hoping to TTC in 6 months or so. I guess I’m happy/lucky that it was only a 40 day cycle, and now 60 +…
