Yuck. I would give her a negative review so people know that she does this, it shouldn’t take 3 weeks for her to tell you no. It sounds like pretty weak reasoning, especially considering that you wanted an existing design just customized for your details. I would not use her friend either, she hasn’t proved herself to be nice to work with so why would her friend be any better?

I totally vote that you go to Etsy and find someone who’s easy to work with!

@traveller:  Isn’t that the worst? I had the same interaction with a designer whom I wanted to do passport invites and/or STD’s with and I was willing to order her biggest minimum order (100, when I only needed 50). Wanna post an inspiration picture of what your dream invite looks like? I love looking at cool Destination Wedding invites!

Go with magnet street! They were fantastic to deal with and the invites turned out amazing!

@traveller:  It’s never unreasonable to expect a professional to act professional! ๐Ÿ™‚

Yikes! I hope you find someone amazing! I actually contacted a few Etsy sellers who were slow to respond to my questions, and VERY slow to mail out my sample invitations. In the end it is okay because I was googling for images of where we are getting marries and I found these really neat invites that were designed for a couple that got married the same place we are. (They were featured in a huge magazine) I searched for days to find who the desgner was and when I did I contacted her telling her how much I loved the design and now she is putting together a qoute ๐Ÿ™‚ I hope it works out with her because your story makes me nervous as we are on a destination wedding budget as well and only needing about 20-25 invites.
