I was so excited that I found a DIY invitation kit in our colors, pink and orange. I ordered 4 packs of these in pink:
They came in the mail the other day so of course I opened them up right away to see how they look. And guess what. The invitations with the damask jackets on them don’t fit in the envelopes! They’re too big for the envelopes. So I could either (a) squeeze them in and make the envelopes look really silly, (b) not use the damask jackets, even though they’re part of the reason I bought them, or (c) return them and go back to the drawing board. Option C it is. I’m pretty disappointed. Luckily I bought them from Kohl’s and they’ll accept returns of pretty much anything. Hopefully that goes for opened invitation kits, too.

I hate to say it, but you should probably return them. The jacket is what makes them so pretty. I had the same something similar happen to me and I had to go back to the drawing board too. I ended up going with a kit from Michael’s. Have you looked there? They have some very pretty colorful invitations!

Yeah, I’m returning them. I just hope they’ll take the opened ones back too. There were some I liked at Michael’s so I’ll probably end up back there.

Why not ask to speak to a manager at kohls. Explain the situation and see if they will credit you the difference to purchase your own envelopes. They will have to damage them out and take a loss possibly anyway. I bet that if you play the stressed out disappointed bride they will help you out.
