I’m so GLAD I didn’t use Anomalie after reading these posts. I was seriously thinking of going with them because I was hating everything.

Me too. Glad i did not use them.

Yes, i looked into them, I was attracted by their Facebook and instagram videos.

For me, also,  I just felt so guilty wasting the bridal boutique’s time…i just felt…well, ‘dirty”.

Also.. from what I see on Anomalie’s instagram the dresses mostly ( with a few exceptions) don’t fit well at all.

A few of you say you like what they stand for.. but what DO they stand for? Using another small businesses time and resources, then copying and buying from Anomalie? In addition, Im readng in the reviews that they mostly don’t come out well (or cause alot of stress in the process)  And by the way if it costs only ‘ a few hunderd dollars” to make a dress why exactly are they charging brides $1400-$1600? Seems they are the “pot calling the kettle black”?

In the meantime, i shopped locally and I found an AMAZING ALlure bridal gown for $1375.00 It was exactly what i wanted. No guessing, great communication, been n business for over 25 years.  And I supported a locally owned business.  Just my 2 cents 🙂

I chose to use Anomalie and so far I have no regrets, the process has been very fun and stress free and they are making something for me I couldn’t find anywhere else. I had already been to a dozen bridal boutiques and tried on 100+ dresses before I decided to go with them so there was no awkward going to stores just to try stuff on as I had already done all that.

I’m excited to get my dress (and custom veil).

I am quite late in reviewing my custom dress experience with Anomalie due to life changes and family obligations. I hope the company has made positive changes since my very negative experience with them. That said, here was my experience so you can be sure to investigate thoroughly to be sure you know what you are getting into and also have a backup plan. I contacted the company for my consultation in mid-May prior to my mid-Sep wedding in France. I needed the dress by the 9th of Sep when my fiancé and I were leaving the US. Since it was a 4-month lead time vs 6 months, the stylist was clear about what could NOT be done in the timeframe (i.e. intricate beading) and I was fine with that. I paid $1,275.00 on 5/20for the dress and provided the long list of measurements by my tailor 5 days later. There were many updates in June and July and I continued to communicate the main vision for the dress. The wedding was taking place outside in a garden in the south of France, with just a small group of family and friends. The dress (in light blue) was to be very lightweight and romantic, with a faux see-through, sexy bodice. I received the dress the 3rd week of August and it was nothing like I imagined or discussed with the company. They added a heavy underskirt that was never approved. The dress was so heavy, it was difficult to lift to try on – it felt like heavy curtains. The bodice was lined with a heavy taupe fabric that could be easily seen and the lace was so heavy it looked nothing like my vision. The worst part was, when I took it to my tailor (with 30 yrs experience), she determined either the liaison in the US or the factory in China did not convert the measurements from inches to metric correctly. I could not even get into the dress (even though I had lost weight!) The breast cups were 3” higher, falling just below my clavicles. The back was 2” from being able to close. In speaking with my stylist Kristi, then Bre Devlin, they wanted my tailor to make alterations, but she would have had to remake the entire dress. Finally, while speaking to Ms. Devlin, she just refunded my money via Paypal and ended the call. Not even an apology. I had to quickly go online and luckily found a beautiful gown at bhldn.com for only $200. I wanted to support this new startup with my business, but it was an absolute fiasco. The least they could have done was send a letter of apology. (The 1st 3 photos are the “vision” photos sent to Anomalie. They agreed the dress could be made to this design. The 4th and 5th photos show how the dress turned out. I could not photograph it while trying it on, as there is no way to get in it.)
