i’m just sending it to the person we’re closer to and putting both names on the invite.

We had this issue with a couple of our guest and did what Kitzy suggested.  We just sent the invite to the person that we were closer to, but put both names on the envelope.

I agree completely with previous posters. And as someone who was in a very long term relationship but didn’t live together (we’re engaged now and we still don’t live together), I am perfectly happy to receive invites that way.
