Twizbe :  Ah okay. Names are so hard! Sounds like Roger is more important. When it comes to middle names it doesn’t really matter the popularity as the middle name isn’t often used, mostly just on paper. So I would pick the person most important to you.

Benjamin Francis and Penelope Elizabeth.

Catherine Elizabeth just sounds like mom (or dad) had an obession with the Royals….or a name one of Prince George’s future kids will bear one day.

Since your dad’s name is Roger, I vote for Benjamin Roger and Catherine Elizabeth! I also like Benjamin Francis.

Twizbe :  I like Benjamin Roger and Eleanor Elizabeth the best. Robin Francis comes in at a close second…but I don’t like the sound of James and George together for some reason.

I love Robin Francis for the boys name and Penelope for girls

Robin Roger kind of sounds like Rockin’ Robin to me. I read it in the same… melody, I guess. Other than that, all the boys names are nice choices.

Same with the girl’s names, but my name is Catherine so obviously I think that one is the best but I do love Eleanor. The only thing I wouldn’t be sure about with Penelope is that it ends with a sound very similar to Elizabeth.

Robin is not a boy’s name. I’ve never in my life met a boy named Robin. It’s a girl’s name (I don’t care if it’s labeled as unisex I would never name my son something more commonly used as a girl name – comic books and Robin Hood just don’t count lol).

Benjamin Francis is a great name, as well as Eleanor Elizabeth. I love the name Eleanor, because it ages well (can be Ella as a child and grow into Eleanor when she gets older). Very few names age well, but Benjamin and Eleanor do just that. However, Eleanor Elizabeth is a BIT of a tongue-twister. Are there other middle names you like? Eleanor Ann is good. Something simple paired with the more tongue-twisting first name.

I agree with PP. Penelope Elizabeth sounds odd because it sounds like one long name. I prefer when the last sound of the first name is NOT the same as the first sound of the middle name.

I’m all about the AESTHETIC of a name. Initials, sounds, et cetera. Benjamin Francis rolls off the tongue well, so it gets a gold star from me. Not really a fan of Eleanor Elizabeth because it’s so complicated, but it’s my favorite of the options 🙂

Twizbe :  I know he was a real character I didn’t loop him in with cartoons I looped Robin and Batman in with cartoons XD

That’s fine! You asked for opinions, I gave you mine! 😀 I do like Eleanor Elizabeth 🙂

Twizbe :

Of the names you posted, I like Robin Francis for a boy and Penelope Elizabeth for a girl. As a fellow brit I think Robin is perfectly suitable for a boy, and have met more boys with the name than girls.

You have lots of great options!  I like everything except for Robin as a stand-alone and the combination of Robin with Roger.  I suggest using Robin in the traditional form – as a nickname for Robert – if you choose it.  Robert Francis “Robin” would be lovely.

Penelope does stand out as a little bit of a stylistic outlier, in that it isn’t as quintessentially classic British as the rest.  James and Penelope is a little bit more unexpected than other pairings.  That isn’t necessarily a problem, but more so something to consider if you think you might have more than two kids in the future (i.e., James, Eleanor, and Catherine is a slightly more natural “set” than James, Penelope, and Catherine.).  Some people care about this and others not at all!

An additional suggestion for each sex – Frederick Roger and Margaret Elizabeth.

I like George Francis the best. I like all of the girls names but like Penelope the best. My name is Elizabeth so I just have to throw it out there that its a pretty first name too ☺

I always think of the diminutives with names that are 3 syllables or more, so Penelope would most likely get nicknamed Penny or Pen. Eleanor could be Ellie or Nell. Catherine would obviously be Cate or Cathy. Same for the boys names -Rob, Ben but George is usually just George but sometimes Georgie.

Just something to consider…
