So his dad’s name is actually Ronald McDonald?? No, you definitely can’t do that to your kid lol

Out of the boy names I like Grayson best with your last name. I’m not a fan of the “N” names because they make me thin of “Norm MacDonald” for some reason…which is kind of random I guess.

For the girls names, I think I like Olivia best, but I don’t mind any of them, all are perfectly good.

Nolan Michael and Olivia Laine are my favorite! Love Hailey as well (my name is very similar) but not a fan of the common middle name as much.

teacherbee01 :  For your boys named, I like Nathan best (prefer Nathaniel), followed by Nolan. Grayson and Brayden are nos for me, simply because of how popular/trendy they are. Brayden would be a definite no for a number of reasons, the most important being that it is incredibly trendy and will not, in my opinion, age well.

As for your girl names, I guess Maya or Hailey would be my pick, simply because Olivia and Sophie are also wayyyyy too popular for my tastes. I’m actually so over the name Olivia. It’s literally everywhere. As for Katelyn, I just don’t care for it. Maybe it’s because I associate that name with the thousand or so Katelyn/Kaitlin/Kaitlyn/Caitlyns etc that I grew up with. That was an insanely popular name when I was in school, so all of the Katelyns I know are in their mid-20s.

I prefer the name Kate to Kaitlyn. Yes, it’s a “nickname”, but I think it’s one of those names that can stand on it’s own. And it’s quite classic and regal, whereas Kaitlyn, again, feels very dated.

Hailey is very pretty, but again feels dated to me. I don’t know why, but I again think it has to do with the number of Haileys I remember from growing up. Maya is not my style, so I suppose Hailey ultimately gets my vote, though I do prefer the simple and classic Kate.

I like your names.  Sophie/Sophia and Olivia (though I LOVE Olivia) are too popular right now.  I would probably pick Nathan and Maya as my favorites

I really like the simplicity of Kate. I think I’d vote Kate or Katelyn Marie. Laine is really pretty and more unusual than the rest if used as a first name (maybe Laine Marie?). Spelled “Lane” I also like it as a boy’s name. I like Holly better than Hailey for a variation on that one. I agree that Olivia/Sophia are too popular right now, though I love both names otherwise. Maya I’m meh about, but I do like Mia. I’m not a huge fan of names ending in “-an” for boys, but I think I like Grayson best of your options.

teacherbee01 :  Ronald McDonald. Sorry. Still laughing. What a pain for your Father-In-Law. Happy you don’t want to do that to your child.

I love all your girl names though as PPs have stated some are in great use. Kate is a strong name. I prefer Nolan and Nathan of the boy names listed.

teacherbee01 :  I like Nolan, Nathan, and Kate. The others are either too trendy or too popular for me.

I vote Nathan and Katelyn.

Also, my name is just Kate and I like it just fine. It’s enough to stand alone and still have nicknames.
