I bought my dress, the CT314 from David’s Bridal, very early in my engagement. It was a tie between that ballgown and the T9612, a lace sheath. I never wanted a ballgown, but the CT 314 had the elegant simplicity and dropped waist that I wanted. The T9612 was the sheath, which I wanted, but empire waist and too glittery and low cut for my church wedding. The ballgown made me look like a bride, the sheath made me feel like a bride. I went with the ballgown. And had second thoughts ever since I brought it home. It’s beautiful, but it’s not me. The more I looked at dresses, the more I liked lace. And I started kicking myself for not getting the T9612.
FH and I talked about me having a different reception dress, which was actually his idea. At first, I wanted nothing to do with it. But the more dress remorse I had, the more I thought about getting a reception dress.
Future Mother-In-Law and I went to the bridal store today to pick up the dress for my overseas living Maid/Matron of Honor. We also wanted to look for MOG dresses while we were there. I asked if they had any sample dresses, and I found the Maggie Sottero Libby for $299 and fell in love with it. It is too big, but the seamstress said she can take it in. I’m so thrilled! It’s light, I can move around in it, and now I will even be able to go to the bathroom, haha!
I don’t have any pictures of me in those dresses yet, but here’s what they look like:
