Hi Bees – I am doing my own makeup for my Destination Wedding in Thailand (didn’t want to end up looking like ‘ladyboy’!)
Here are the latest trials & hair (giant oversize bun). Love to know what you think! I will also be adding flase lashes for the big day.
This one has no bottom eyeliner………
This is the make up done by the artist @ Bobbi Brown……
And the first DIY…….
Any tips or thoughts are welcome! 🙂

Love the first pics with eyeliner on bottom rim. The false lashes will look amazing and will really make your eyes pop. Maybe define your eyebrows a little with an eyebrow pencil to add more wow factor, otherwise your DIY makeup looks gorgeous!

@Megz11: Thanks – hey we are wedding day twins!!! And Aussies!!! The more I look at the pics the more I do need the liner on the bottom. I had used eyebrow pencil – but perhaps I need a bit more!!! Cheers, T.

We are too lol 🙂 Yeah the liner definitely makes your eyes stand out more and a little more brow definition would come up really well in photos. You have the perfect brow shape so flaunt it i say!

I actually like the first photo without the liner on the bottom rim and the last DIY photo the best. I think the liner on the bottom lid is a bit harsh for you. Just wearing the liner on the top lid gives a softer look.

i LOVE the 1st one! (I meant the 2nd picture if you saw this before I edited it hehe) I didn’t realize #1 & 2 were the same, but I really like it alot

You look great in all, but they very first an very last are my fav. You have beautiful eyes!

I also like the trials without liner on you lower lid, or softer/only halfway along your lower lid like the Bobby Brown trial. I feel it gives you a more youthful, fresh look without.

i really like the look, but i kinda feel like you need to amp it up a bit more for it to be lasting through the ceremony…

- No eyeliner on bottom
- Curl your false lashes when they’re on
- No shimmer lipstick, try a stronger matte or glossy color instead
- More concealer, especially under the eyes
- Shimmer on the apples of your cheeks and eyelids
Its a good first try (I personally suck at doing makeup), but I think you can definitely amp of the color more. Your DIY pic looks more ‘everyday’ makeup to me.

It seems like people like both looks equally, so why not combine them? Do a dark liner on the outside half of your lower lid and a white/light liner starting near your tear duct and meeting the dark line in the middle. It’ll give you dimension but also make your eyes look wider because of the white!

@musician32992: I agree with this.
Also, I think you just need to amp it up a bit, it looks a bit too everyday. But I’m not an expert in makeup, so I’m not sure what you could do to “amp it up.”

First, I love how fresh your makeup looks! Bobbi Brown is a great place to go for fresh, natural makeup.
I love the look both with the bottom liner and without. Without, it looks much more fresh and bright. With, it looks more evening and sophisticated. Either way, I don’t think you can go wrong.
But, the Bobbi Brown pic – the eyeliner/shadow is much more smokier. Is that the look you’re going for? If so, you need to smoke out your eyeliner a bit more. Try using a small angled brush with a bit of eyeshadow on it (the color of your lid) and blending the liner up into the lid a bit to smudge it out.
I personally don’t love the bun too much. I’m not sure what it is, but I almost feel like you would look better with something that isn’t pulled back too much or maybe the bun is just too high. Sorry!
Keep us posted with updates on your trials!

you have lovely features. just a couple of key tips. use a bit of translucent powder on your face, it will eliminate the glare in the pics and it will also set your makeup. (i see glare on your face in the first pic). also, in pro photos your makeup will not show up as much as you think with the lights and flashes. apply at least 50% more than you normally would.
i like the job that the mua did at bobbi brown.
