I’m really struggling with a setting choice for a moissy. I somewhat think solitaires are a bit to boring for me, and I’m not a fan of the solitaire profile of just a “rock” sitting high up on the finger. I do like the looks of a halo, but everyone I know has a halo and I like being different! So there is my struggle. I know, first world problems, right? 😉
If I do get a solitaire, I would love a cushion cut. This was my first love (eng178a) http://www.moissaniteco.com/cushion-moissanite-petite-pave-style-wedding-set-p-12928.html but I am worried about it sitting too high (8mm according to them). I did love that it isn’t a typical halo though, kindof a solitaire with extra bling! And I do love cushion cuts but I know in moissanite they show more color.
I’ve recently started looking at a similar style but a halo, eng952 – in a round brilliant moissy since it shows less color- http://www.moissaniteco.com/round-brilliant-moissanite-diamond-petite-halo-engagement-ring-p-13100.html – from pictures, it seems the halo adds a bit of “flushness” to the setting, instead of just a rock sitting high up on your finger, if that makes sense. I don’t know if technically it sits lower though than a solitaire though or if it just appears that way. Also if anyone has this setting in rose gold, I’d LOVE to see it!!!! I’ve always been more of a white gold person but rose gold may be the nice touch I need to keep that unique look 🙂

I have a similar setting in rose gold (eng867). This setting does sit high for a halo, but the petite one would probably be much lower.

That is beautiful! I would be pretty nervous about ordering rose gold because I have always been a white-on-white crisp person, but the more I see of rose gold, the more I like it. I found this video of a similar ring from an etsy seller. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-qNV_vcYlQ
The rose gold looks a little more subtle in a petite style, which might be right up my alley.

There are so many height settings for halos. My previous halo setting was a cathedral setting with a halo on top-it was quite high and I banged it on everything. My reset was a solitaire with a basket that sits much lower. So the best way to judge height on any setting is with a side view. Or email customer service to request the height in mm. I’m not sure if that’s what you were looking to hear, I hope it helped.

There are halo settings that can sit lower yes but keep in mind about your wedding band. If you want yours to have a flush instead of a gap thank recommend to have your setting a little higher so the band can fit just right under I do see people solder their rings together. It’s easy to solder them but harder to separate. So keep that in mind as you so your wedding band search.
P.s. I know this post is old….but I would like to know what you picked as your final choice! 🙂
