Welcome to weddingbee!  Is the makeup airbrush or normal?  I only paid $100 for mine the day of but it wasn’t airbrush makeup.

Yeay for June 2011 brides!!

Pricing can depend on where you live.  For example, you’ll pay a lot more in places like New York and LA then you will in Pennsylvania etc.

Here are two pieces of advise that have helped me get great prices and reliable vendors:

1. Referrals and Reviews are a MUST!  Ask friends, family, weddingwire.com, google anything.  Just get reviews, and if you don’t know anyone, ask the vendor for referrals.  If they are good, they’ll happily oblige, but in this digital age, everything you need can be found online.  Listen carefully to the things brides liked or didn’t like about each stylist/make-up artist, you can usually see a pattern, good or bad.

2.  Book them at shows.  Frequently vendors at bridal shows will offer special pricing or packages at the shows.  Do your homework in #1 above, then see if they will be at any local bridal shows or events and check them out.  I’ve seen specials as much as $50-$100 LESS at shows than on the services menu.

I hope that helps!  Good luck!
