Welcome to Weddingbee and congratulations on your Christmas engagement!

I think you need to do what works for you.  If you are comfortable with having a long engagement then that is great.  It will give you plenty of time to work out the details you want and save without breaking the bank!

The ladies in the section are actually waiting for rings and engagement proposals not waiting to be married but if a long engagement works for you to get everything in order, so be it – it is YOUR wedding, do not let anyone deter you from that.

Having a wedding in 2012 is a long engagement?  LOL!  I got engaged when I was almost 19 and got married at 28.  Now that’s a long engagement!

Almost two years is a long engagement, but if it works for you, go for it!  I give you kudos for your patience, you are a stronger woman than I. πŸ™‚

I’m another long engagement girl, and we’re down to just under a year now (yay!).  Am I ready to be done with planning and get married already? Yes.  Am I still glad I planned it this way? Yep!

You have to do what makes sense for you and your Fiance.  Enjoy newly engaged bliss!

It goes by quick!  Mine was shorter than yours at 15 months but now it’s less than 2 weeks away.  Everyone said at first how it was so far away but I just kept plugging along and planning/booking things.  And now with less than 2 weeks to go, I am relaxed and the whole thing has been relaxing.  We got first choice of everything!  And saved money by not having to go with vendors leftover or just picking the first one available.  We could shop around.

Congratulations on your engagment date twin!!!

Hopefully waiting won’t be too hard. I have my ups and downs. One day I feel like it will be here sooner than I know it and I will have tons of time to get the best venue, an awesome dress and lots of DIY stuff. But other times I feel like it is SOO far away and that I shouldn’t start planning now because it is too soon.
