To answer your question, i personally don’t think 2mm is too thin.  We’re looking at a 1.8-2mm for both my e ring and band so 4mm in total. If your ring is 2.5 then I’m less worried about the width issue I was checking out with you. It looked wider than that and as a small ish fingered person myself I was worried about the total width with her wedding band.  So personally, if you want it dainty I would do down a little in thickness but at 2.5mm is not a bigger worry as I thought it could be. You’re doing a great job and it’s super exciting.

Let me first say I think it’s amazing that you’re doing this!  Great job!  I agree with others that a double prong will look nice, also help secure the larger stone.  Well done!

I don’t think it will look like a Super Bowl ring at all. It is a sizeable centre stone but elegant and you haven’t thrown a shovel-load of pave at it. The setting is simple and the lines are clean. I have a size 3.75 finger and I’d wear it like a shot!

The fact the she already has signifiicant diamond jewellery and she is used to seeing it on her mum all points to her being comfortable with this beauty. I’m super excited to see the final ring and hear how she reacts!

hereformybaybee:  Yeah, actually I agree with you on the rendering….the double claw isn’t looking right.  When in doubt, go single. I would listen to the jeweler….he would know best.  Looks great by the way!

ETA: You’re NOT being sensitive.  It’s a big investment and you want to ensure you’re thrilled about the results.  I completely understand.  Don’t settle unless you’re over the moon about it! Good Luck!

Double prongs are a MUST in radiants due to the cut corners.  The double prongs add more security to the stone.  I have a radiant and my family jeweler (not where my husband bought my ring) told me my single prongs should definitely be double.  :/. I’ll take that into consideration when I reset it down the road.  The setting you have chosen is EXACTLY what I have my heart set on. Perfection!  Congrats!

hereformybaybee:  For what it’s worth, for my ring, the ring itself looks MUCH much better than the renderings

Wow, just wow! I personally like the single claw, but I’d I’d probably go by what the jewler suggested for a stone this size. I like the size of the side stones- it’s really a fabulous ring!

I think what you’ve picked is amazing! Although, part of the Radiant cut’s beauty is the geometric corners. So personally, I didn’t like the double claw. But I have seen some Radiants that look absolutely stunning with it.

And whatever you decide will look beautiful, and I’m sure she’ll love it! ๐Ÿ™‚

What a gorgeous ring!! She will absolutely love it!! I’d either go single claw, or the double claw but not rendered together.  Great job ๐Ÿ™‚

Its beautiful. Emerald cut diamonds have the perfect balance of being a classic cut yet are currently very fashion forward. I am sure she will be excited to wear it!

I think im in the minority but I would prefer single prongs on that ring (and I generally prefer double). I think the less metal on a ring that size the better and it will keep it looking dainty. I think a 2.5 mm band will balance it out. Just my 2 cents! You’ve done a great job! I’d also go for a plain wedding band that fits in with the e ring – let that ring be the show stopper!
