okay, this new thread right here is really kind of pointless… except that i want to encourage anyone looking for a veil not to be bamboozled into paying a zillion dollars for something cheap-y and not-so-special. here are pix of the veil i had made on Etsy.com . first i bought silk illusion (instead of synthetic "bridal illusion"), then i found some vintage lace (tons available on eBay and Etsy "supplies"). then i did Etsy alchemy, and found someone to hand-sew the lace onto the illusion. basically no store-bought veils are hand-sewn these days, other than, like belgian lace ones from brussels. she did an AMAZING and meticulous job, didn’t she?? it cost around $150… not cheap, by any means, but way less than lots of the bogus veils foisted off on us brides, i think…?

Gorgeous! I, too, love Etsy. And honestly, I’m willing to pay a bit more for quality work. Veils/accessories in bridal stores are so grossly overpriced and usually not the best quality. Congrats on a beautiful veil!

It is beautiful I agree! I got my veil on Etsy after moths got to the other one I bought and I needed something quick. Didn’t expect it to be nice but it was! Go Etsy!
