I have the greatest man in the world! I just have to brag on him for a minute.
We had a busy day today and didn’t get to see each other much. (We work together.) Once the work was done, I went inside to shower (I was sweaty and filthy) and relax. Fiance had a friend stop by and they were talking in the yard. Fiance came in and was in obvious pain. His back has been hurting all weekend, and he overdid it today. He took a hot shower, and asked me if I wanted to go get some dinner. I said sure, and we got in the car and headed to town. On the way, I asked where he wanted to eat. I didn’t have a preference. He said “How about Mexican?” I LOVE mexican food, He doesn’t really care for it. After eating WAY too much yummy mexican food he wanted to stop at the store. I waited in the car.
When he got in the car, he handed me a prepaid Visa card and told me it was loaded and I was to spend it on stuff for me, not him, not the wedding, not the house, not the dog, not everyday stuff. Spend it on frivolous stuff. We run his family business together, and make a comfortable living (finances combined.) He knows I am super frugal and will pass up something I like to save money for the wedding or everyday bills. He also knows I will sometimes see some shoes or accessories I want online, and don’t buy them because I am “too cheap”. He tries to spoil me, but I am stubborn about it and don’t let him. This was his way of making me see it’s okay to spend some money on me, and not have to worry about anyone else’s opinion.
Now the only problem I have is….what to spend my “mad money” on? LOL
Anyone else have a DH/FI/SO that surprises them out of the blue? And on a Monday too? LOL

If I had some “me” money I’d probably treat myself to some quality time on Sephora.com or do a little jewelry project.
My husband works in gourmet food imports and brings me home hard to find cheese, espresso and spices. My e-ring (after years of marriage) was the last big “gift.” Other than that he knows I’d be pissed if he gave me anything expensive, I’m still in the “Save it for baby’s college fund!” mindset.

@KatyElle: I’m looking at some Mary Kay now, and I always want new jewelry.
@Totes Magotes: Thank You!
@cr6zy: He already has a monthly pedi in the budget for me, and I am not cutting my hair till after the wedding. The massage sounds like a good idea though.
@JamieinMN: I mentioned some new jeans and shirts, and he said that is regular stuff and I can get that anytime I want. Go figure!
I spoiled him tonight too. I rubbed his sore back with some pain relieving stuff and now he and our furbaby are cuddled up in the bed snoring.
