For our RSVP’s we made it simple, all you had to do was call or text my Father-In-Law (he wanted a special job). We actually gave people TWO months and ended up calling about ten people. The kicker? We only invited 33-34! The double kicker? 95% of our guests were family. The ones who didn’t call assumed that because they were family we automatically knew they were coming *facepalm*.

I’ve had to reach out to quite a few people. Some stated they simply misplaced the RSVP and others have stated they never received the invite and RSVP. I’m just as bewildered as you with the lack of response (especially, when you provide postage on the return envelope).

Our invites just went out, but I anticipate having to follow up on a number of people. I expect that these people will be those who assume that I know they’re NOT coming.

Nope, we have people invited from all over the world. I won’t assume anything.

We had 70 people we were waiting on when out rsvp date came. Most were couples or families so I didn’t have to reach out specifically to that many people. We had our parents help us track down family members and contacted the rest ourselves. Still waiting on 15/20 people one week past our rsvp date. Ridiculous.

Unfortunately, we had a very similar experience. I sent out our invites 10 months in advance because it was a destination wedding for many, and closed it 8 weeks before. out of 150 invites, we probably only got half back, and were still chasing down 75 8 weeks before. It’s apparently a cultural thing where Koreans don’t understand the concept of RSVPing. I had my Father-In-Law working against me, repeatedly telling me “ill just tell you like that week how many people are coming when I ask around” and when I countered with “no we need names, and meal selections because there are 3 options and we have seating arrangements” it became “people aren’t going to do it, it’s too much of a commitment”. -_-

SWe got a ton during that last week, so as hard as it is, I wouldnt start reaching out to people until at least a day after the due date.

As of our RSVP date we had 72 of 144 that were still no response. UGH!

Over the last week, we’ve wittled that down to 13 – I’m hoping a few will show up in the mail today.

I cannot understand why it’s so difficult for people to check a box and seal an already stamped envelope!!! Don’t even get me started…

chevaldame :  I got a ton of then during the week of the RSVP date – a lot of people seemed to mail them ON the RSVP date instead of before. You may find you get a lot in the next week or so.

I would be stubborn. If you are given a date to reply and people are too lazy to reply then I would take you off the guest list.

How difficult is it to reply for goodness sake?
