Why would you show up with dirty nails? There’s at least a bathroom at the restaurant if you happened to run into a mud pile on the way over…

    Pit stains are pretty gross!!!

And bad breath normally goes away if you’re drinking or eating…

pit stains are excusable in july/august (unless you live in a car-dependent area). dandruff and bad breath would be dealbreakers for me.

I think dirty nails are probably the worst of these… although pit stains is a close second lmao.

Dirty nails is the only one that isn’t excusable by a possible health issue that the person may have. Wash yo’ hands!!!

So…. yeah, I sweat all the time and have to buy clothes based around what colors DON’T show pit stains. UGGGGGGH. I’ve used tons of different deodorants.. my mom has the same issue, but neither of us have tried prescription which we probably should.

So I picked dirty nails 😉

Dirty nails could be a contractor, plumber, mechanic, etc though. A lot of the materials they work will DON’T wash off. It’s gross (DH works with dirty staining stuff every now and then) but it comes off after a couple days, so that one would be most forgivable to be. Unless it was clearly just dirt that he could have cleaned out. That’s gross. LOL!

My Fiance often has bad breath (problem with acid reflux not hygiene), he has a pretty bad dandruff problem (though he has tried almost every dandruff shampoo under the sun), and his nails are dirty often because he is always working on cars and on the ranch etc….. but he only has pit stains after he goes to PT =) I know, I have a dreamer, but I love him anyways and he cleans up really nice =)

Dandruff, pit stains and bad breath can be difficult to manage, so I would try not to hold it against the person. But there’s no excuse for dirty nails. I would shudder if they tried to touch me. If their nails look that awful, lord knows what’s on their hands that I can’t see.

@bakerella: I wouldn’t hold it against them if they worked in an industry like that. But if they are all clean and regular looking (and I knew what they did for a living) and they had random dirty long fingernails?! Hurl.

At first I was going to say pit stains but at least that can be explained by nerves.  The others are just gross.

For me, pit stains are forgivable since Darling Husband and I both have a tendency to sweat easily. I especially sweat when I’m nervous. 🙁

But bad breath is super gross… grosser than dirty nails or dandruff I think. But all three are gross. Ugh!

Here’s an icky story: My friend’s Fiance has bad dandruff and a black sofa. Whenever I go over there, I don’t want to sit on that sofa because the back of it is always sprinkled with little piles of dandruff. They’re big flakes too, and the thought of them getting on me is horrifying. I don’t understand how my friend doesn’t notice these little snowdrifts on the back of her sofa and vacuum them up asap, or at least take care of it before they have guests over. It’s beyond nasty.
