The dress looks amazing on you, it’s gorgeous, and you’ll be a beautiful bride.

The dress you chose screams timeless elegance—its sophisticated, gorgeous, and you look exquisite in it. Hands-down the best of all the dresses you posted! It’s an absolute dream.

I like the dress you chose I think it’s very pretty and flattering on you! It probably looks even better in person than in your phone pics.

I agree with your friend that the other two dresses create a more appealing figure *in my opinion*, if it was me, I would want my body/dress to have the proportions/outline that are created by the dresses in the other two photos. It seems like your friend and I are in the minority though so you should not worry! The reason they make 10 billion different dresses is that everyone has a different preference. The fact that your friend and I prefer a different shape doesn’t mean anything!!

I’m just telling you this so you don’t think either your freind is crazy or that everyone here is just blowing smoke.

Also i think the reason your friend and I think the dress is unflattering just the first picture you posted. It’s a weird angle and it makes the proportions of the dress look totally different than it does in the other pictures. Is that the picture your friend was looking at when she said it was unflattering?

I would go back and have someone else take pictures of you at other angles. I’m sure the limitations of the angles you can get taking selfies is why you are having doubts.

Sweetcece:  omg that dress is gorgeous and gorgeous ON YOU!!!

It’s very hard to “Get that feeling” unless you are completely put together. Try the dress on with all of your day of accessories. Have your hair and makeup done and see the look when you’re all made up. I promise you it will make a huge difference with ANY dress you try on.

I like your dress way better than the other picture.

Sweetcece:  that’s weird. I find this dress lovely though! My advise tho…..never go dress shopping with a truck load of people…2 -3 people is good.. The more people u ask for their thoughts the more complicated and frustrated YOU will get.

Sweetcece:  I too think your current dress looks fantastic! But I also think you should get the dress of your dreams, and if this isn’t it then maybe it’s not so bad to consider other options.

If you’re $600 – $700 under budget, then you might want to go to a local seamstress and ask about having it altered into a mermaid, like your original post suggested. The boddice really is stunning, and it fits you like a glove!! so I can see why you fell in love with this dress, but if it’s not quite right then just tweak the things you want. Loads of girls get major alterations that change the dress. I ended up getting a dress custom made because I couldn’t find the thing that existed in my head. I think it’s ok to be picky about wedding dresses.

You do look wonderful in this dress – but do you feel beautiful? If not, then just make some changes.

FYI, I’m not a fan of the mermaid silhouette on me (because I have no boobs), so I’m not biased on that one. But if that’s what makes you feel elegant, then go for it!

I think your first dress is beautiful.  I truthfully thought it was your “replacement gown”.

If anything I agree with PP’s taking it to a seamstress and seeing how you would look using it for other silhouettes.
