I love the cathedral! I wore one and it was a little unruly, but overall totally fun. Just added a dash of drama while still being simple and elegant. If you wear it for just ceremony and pictures, it won’t be a prob. If you are set on wearing it all night and for dancing, then maybe not.

If you loved the length of the cathedral, just not the trippy bit dragging on the floor, what about doing a waltz length, or a custom length to your desired length (that was my favorite thing about my order from Occansey– that I could specify the exact inches).

This 64 inch cascade one from their testimonials section is really pretty:

I felt the same way about the cathedral being a little unwieldy so I ended up doing one that was a custom length so it landed just above the floor.  I also wanted to wear it a little higher on my head because I wanted a modified poofy “bubble” look at the top.  We just measured it out ourselves and sent that in as the length.  I vote for a custom length I guess!

I love cathedral veils and it will go perfect with your dress since it has simple and clean lines. You already have a train you could trip over, I don’t think the veil would pose a bigger threat 🙂 For the reception when you bustle the dress, you’d probably want to take the veil off and replace it with another hair piece (tiara, hairpin, flower etc).

I’d recommend spending some time browsing through the testimonials section of Occansey’s site– there are pics of real brides on there with details about what length, fullness, etc. they ordered.  I’d initially thought I’d want an extra sheer veil, but seeing the 1-tier extra fullness on there changed my mind completely– so pretty!

I think the waltz length is perfect for the cascade style, since you can really see the beautiful curves of the edges.
