I would remove the rug and the end of bed ottoman both are too small. Pillows that are square would help for the bed. I’m not too crazy about the four pictures grouped but taller may not look any better. For me I would go a shade lighter an the walls the bed blend together. I do like the layout of the room, maybe false beams on the ceiling would look cool? Or that maybe too rustic.

@pinkshoes:  I think I would move the dresser inbetween both of the doors.  And put a nice large plant in that corner that the dresser is currently in.  Also, I think a pop of color elsewhere would be good too. 🙂

If you want to keep the ottoman, I’d add a basket with maybe a blanket or something to one side, because it looks too small with that bed. I also agree that dark frames (don’t go black, go dark wood to match) look better. I’d also center the dresser between the two doors because it looks squished. And add a plant in the corner like Janaic88 said! There’s a thread on here about plants, should be easy to get ideas.

ETA: The other thing you can do is the mix and match frames in different sizes. It’s not as clean, so some people don’t like it, but I think it can work in the right space. Like these: http://pinterest.com/pin/480618591453292086/

Absolutely a piece of art would work!!!! You said you are going to Home Goods right? You need a color inspiration. You said you love the chair. You have the color on the wall and the chair. From those two find a piece of art with some other bright colors for your pop of color. I really would get a new comforter. The comforter could be lighter, maybe a sage green. I can’t really tell the colors of the chair. For the corner, I would look at Home Goods large tall vases maybe in the silver to add some shine to the room. Maybe a few accent pillows. Home Goods glass accent pieces are beautiful. You can do different shapes, some glass, some metal in a group.

Can you tell I watch lots of HGTV? We are redoing a great room at our beach house on a golf course. I am doing white cabinets, white bead board backslash, espresso floor and black granite with very subtle green and brown. We have espresso colored beams and grey/ taupe paneling. The paneling is actually pretty. It’s an a frame house. We are redoing the high ceiling between the beams with white beadboard. My accent pieces are dark metal baskets. I found three wall trivets at Home Goods Saturday I am going to hang under the cabinets against the white beadboard. My color is in a metal tree wall sculpture with green, cream, red, and dusty aqua leaves. I got a throw rug with those and the browns in it. I plan to pull in the orangey red and spring green on the granite along with dark metal baskets. No one trusted my vision, including the contractor but now as he is almost finished everyone likes it.

Think outside the box when you are decorating.

So I didn’t read all the other responses, so sorry if these are repeated.

-Throw pillows on the bed for sure. Pops of darker versions of the colors in your bedspread, and your room.

-The rug looks too small for the space. It would look good if you got a bigger rug and laid it horizontally at the end of the bed like this:

-Also, I think the dresser would look better in between the two doors. With a big mirror over it.

-The duvet doesn’t super match. I love that chair, and it matches the wall color, so I would choose a duvet to match that. If you do a patterned rug, choose a plain duvet. If you do a plain rug, you can do a little bit of pattern on the duvet.

Otherwise I think it looks great. Love the wall color choice. 🙂
