Currently I am on antidepressants for depression, but we have decided to have another baby(Yay!!!), so I am going to be coming off of them completely before we start trying. My question is has anyone been through this? My main concern is how am I going to deal with my depression while being pregnant. How did you deal with your stress in a natural way? Yoga? Mediatation? Etc. I would like to stay off of them for my whole pregancy but Im just not sure how I will make it work.

Luckily, I worked with my Doc and was able to stop taking meds. I had been stable for awhile and we felt I was a good candidate. If you want a really good book to help you find ways that will work best for you and your type of depression, I recommend the book “Healing Anxiety and Depression” by Dr Amen.
I’m not pregnant yet and I’m worried about post-partum depression, but I’m confidant that with my doc, we’ll make the right decision when the time comes.
Another good resource is http://www.womensmentalhealth.org/ It post up to date research on mental health issue and woman, especially pregnancy.
PS- I had a friend that has Generalized Anxiety Disorder pretty bad and she said she never felt better when she was pregnant. But it came back really bad after giving birth.
