My Fiance knew the date he wanted to propose (but I had NO idea). He’s also a horrible liar, so he deicded to order it close to the date. He ordered it the Thursday before he planned to propose, it got here the following Tuesday, and he proposed that Friday.

Definitely don’t snoop! It’ll happen soon, hopefully. Good luck!

OMG – so happy your story is going to have a happy ending!! 🙂

DON’T SNOOP!!! I knew mine was in the house as well and had the same urge…I am glad I didn’t – 1. I loved being surprised 2. My fiance bought the ring himself – he is entitled to that moment…I think it would have been shitty of me to take that “first look” away from him. …when you get the ring, you will be glad you refrained!!

About a month and a half… but that delay was in no small part thanks to the weather repeatedly canceling his plans. The original wait, had everything gone according to plan, would’ve been about two weeks.

In the interest of full disclosure, I did end up coming across the ring and peeked after an agonizing few days home alone with it. I don’t regret it, but I also don’t like surprises and wanted to be prepared if it was something I completely hated (or so I told myself at the time, lol!). If you know it’ll be a style you like and/or love being surprised, I’d definitely try to resist the urge. It’s hard, I know!

It was 5 months from the time my Fiance bought the ring and proposed. I snooped.

I’m in the same boat! 99% sure he has it in the house, and I want to look sooooo bad. Resisting though 😀

I am a born snooper. It’s just who I am. When I was younger, my mom had to store our Christmas presents at SOMEONE ELSE’S HOUSE because we always found them.

It’s a bad habit that followed me into adulthood.

We had talked about the fact that he was left with his mother’s ring, and that we would use the diamond for my ring – but one of his sisters had it at their house. Well, one weekend as his sister was leaving an awkward exchange happened outside and I just had a hunch that the ring was turned over – so of course, I snooped. But in my defense it was in the first place I looked – sock drawer! Ameteur move lol.

In addition to my snooping habit, I also have the inability to hold in my feelings/keep my own secrets, so I blurted out to him that I found it. Soon-ish after that, we went to the jeweler together, and after that day I tried REALLLLYYYYY hard not to snoop. It was seriously almost impossible, but I’m glad I managed – because when the day finally came 3 months later, I was caught completely off-guard and I LOVED being surprised with my dream ring.

futuresmith4 :  I had no idea he had the ring, but he had it for a year before he proposed. Apparently he his it in the workshop with his tools-no wonder I never stumbled across it!

I knew my fiance had ordered the ring but didn’t know it would take 6-8 weeks for the ring to get in so I got really anxious too and I was convinced he had the ring hiding somewhere. He ended up proposing 2 days after getting the ring.
