I would love to see pictures of antique engagement rings and bands! Mine is from the 20-30’s. I am posting a picture of the ring and the marking on the inside.
Does anyone know anything about this antique marking? We are looking to find a similar band to go with it before we resort to having one custome made.
Thanks for your help Bees!

@pengoala: Thanks! I love it so much. He picked it out all by himself and I am very impressed! If you happen to come accross this mark anywhere let me know!

What a fantastic ring! I’m afraid I know nothing about that mark, but I think there are websites that specialize in that sort of thing. There are definitely books.
I have a feeling though, that a custom wedding band is the way to go here 🙂 I suspect it would be challenging to find the matching band even if you knew all about this ring’s provenance. I also wonder because of its ornateness whether it was not worn with a band.

@joya_aspera: We have looked into getting a custom made band. I was just discourage by the price a few of the places wanted. Just to replicate the back line of diamonds to fit nicly behind the ring, they want just as much as he paid for the entire ring! Yikes. I also had said I didn’t need a band because I love it the way it is. But the hubby really wants me to have one. So, we will keep searching or end up making the custom one! Thanks

Looks very similar to mine! Mine doesn’t really have any markings inside except the metal type. I’d love to know more about its past.
