I am Day 3 of the SBD. I have gotten in to a good regimen of eating healthy but I fell off in a big eay and thus I think I got addicted to the bad carbs. LOL I am hoping this will knock me straight. I can’t limit carbs as strictly as say the Atkin’s diet. Besides, I know me personally, I do not function well on limited carbs. i am still getting between 50-80 carbs per day but they are mostly from veggies and beans.
I’m just curious if there are any other SBDers out there on Wedding Bee and if you would share your phase 1 tips! I am still doing good, but I’d like to hear them! 🙂

Hi, I’m doing SBD and am following the plan for the most part – I’m nearing the end of Week 2 – and will probably do Phase 1 for one more week before slowly transitioning. The hardest part for me is the “I need something sweet” after dinner – even though I’m not that much of a sweets person. Given the hot weather, I’ve been sticking with the SF fudgsicles. I can’t stand that ricotta creme thing!
The biggest challenge is getting in the veggies – 4.5 cups a day is a lot!

My Fiance did South beach before we started dating… he lost 70lbs on it! It definitely works, but it is hard to keep it off unless you set up some sort of program with a balance of good carbs, proteins, fats & exercise!

Definitely am thinking I need a better diet than what I’m on. SBD was waht I was thinking about! My friend says it’s great. Post wedding, those white carbs are just calling my name and I need to lose the last 5 pounds so I fit into a Bridesmaid or Best Man dress comfortably again =].
Off I go to research it. if i buy the right veggies and fruits I have no problems with them. It’s the “i need to go back to watching my weight, macaroni and cheese is “not” dinner” thing that gets me

I did SBD a couple times when I need to lose weight fast! I think it works but it just sucks having to hold out on carbs…I’m asian so you know I have to have the rice! Anyway…The one thing I ate a lot of was lettuce wraps…romaine lettuce leaves spread with hummus and feta cheese sprinkled on top!! It was really good!
But for my true diet…I always do Weight Watchers!! Thats the only thing that works for me!! Since then I’m 40 lbs down…now @ 119!!

@Jingle, lettuce wraps are so good. I’ll have to keep that in mind tonight. I’m going to the food store and while I can’t do no carbs/alcohol/fruit for 2 weeks, I’m going to do it until next thursday before the wedding so I can drop this bloaty business.
Do you ladies notice a difference after a week? or is it a moot point? Sigh, peaches are in season right now =(

I haven’t tried SBD. But I did Atkins like 6 years ago and lost 27lbs which was more then my intended goal. I wanted to lose 10-15 lbs. I then got engaged and bought a wedding dress. So I was afraid to get off the phase 2 and gain it back. So I stayed on Phase 2 way to long and made myself sick. I had to go and have a colonoscopy (spelling?). They didn’t find anything wrong just that I wasn’t eating right.
Since then I’ve been afraid to try any other diets. So now I’m just working out 3 days a week and then I’ve started this weekend doing no bread or potatoes. I’m hoping this will help me drop the 10lbs I would like to by the wedding day. And of course not make myself sick.

If you exercise regularly, you should be wary of Phase 1. Most dietians will tell you that Phase 2 and 3 are great though.

for ejs4y8: I did notice a difference after a week, my stomach pouch was smaller. I always tend to do now carbs before a big event only cause I know the belly goes down and it looks better in a dress!!

Thanks! i went grocery shopping and kept the carb buying to a low. I work out like 4-5 days a week at high intensity so I think I’ll just be very conscious to not eat them in the evening, but two pieces of high fiber low cal bread for lunch with a turkey sandwich is still probably my best bet. I’ll start scaling back on that and the salt and see how it goes!
I’m eating avocado and chunky salsa on cucumber slices for dinner with a side of broccoli slaw with low cal dressing. mmm =]
