Typically these tests are performed during the first part of your cycle after your period ends and before ovulation occurs so that they don’t interfere with TTC or a possible early pregnancy.  Do you know what cycle day you’re on?

So long as you haven’t ovulated and concieved at the time the test is performed, they should have no impact on TTC for this cycle.

bloomingflower:  most women don’t ovulate until day 14 or later, depending on your cycle length (day 14 suggests about a 28 day cycle, so if you’re longer, it’s even later) so you shouldn’t have any impact on TTC this cycle.

Also, anecdotally, some women actually have success in the month or two following the testing because by sending the dye through your tubes to look for obstructions and abnormalities, it can sometimes “clear the path” a bit and make it easier to conceive.

Good luck!

I had an HSG.  PP is right that it won’t impact your chances of TTC this month. 🙂  Best of luck to you!

bloomingflower:  I had an SHG (didn’t even feel it), and then started IVF stims later that week.
