@Kiii:  I don’t have an oval to share, as the closest I have is about 2.71 ct. (a garnet). But I wanted to jump in to say how excited I am for you.

Your ring will be GORGEOUS. I hope you will share lots of pics once it is complete and on your finger. Is the stone posted above your actual stone? If so, it’s beautiful. How long will you have to wait for your ring to be complete? Are you going custom with the setting? I know I’m asking waaaaay too many questions, but I would love to hear all the details you want to share!

@Kiii:  Awww! You’re so sweet. I will share a pic of mine below. (I love to share on here, and probably do so too much. But it’s fun to be able to talk to others who share the “jewelry bug” as much as I do.)

You are definitely NOT being excited too early! This is such a happy and exciting time, and (from the experience of an “old, married lady” —wink) I would encourage you to savor every moment of excitement all the way from the initial planning and the waiting and up to that ring being on your finger. It will be a time filled with so many wonderful memories for you. Aaaaah! I’m feeling excited for you just typing about it — ha, ha!

This is my oval. It is not an “engagement” or “wedding jewelry finger” ring. I wear it on either my index or middle finger and switch it between my left hand and right hand, depending on my mood. It’s a Rhodolite Garnet, about 2.71 ct equivalent. And set in rose gold.

@Kiii:  This is one of my favorite sapphire rings from a Bee who hasn’t posted in many years. It’s a 4.45 carat oval sapphire with two 0.5 carat pear diamonds.

I’m totally not trying to criticize your choices and I realize that sapphires face up smaller than diamonds of the same carat weight, but I do wonder if you have thought about the finger coverage that you would get with a 3.55 carat sapphire and a double halo. And if you’ve gotten all the measurements and everything and that’s exactly what you want, then that’s totally fine, it’s just that that’s something I would be thinking about with regard to any double halo.

@Kiii:  Oh yeah I totally understand that. I’m a ring size 9.5-10 (depending on width of the ring and hand swelling), and rings definitely look different on me than they do on people with small fingers!

I’ve seen people with smaller fingers have huge halos with almost all their finger covered and it does look beautiful too. So I feel like you can’t go wrong (and I definitely wasn’t trying to imply that), it’s just about your style! I’m excited to see how your ring comes out 🙂

@Kiii:  your ring sounds like it will be stunning! I love sapphires. Please post a photo once you get it!

My ring has a 4.1 ct center stone (G color, VVS2) on a 7.75 size finger

Also, I have a right hand ring in a similar style to your setting but with an emerald as the center stone. I’m not sure of the carat weight of the emerald but it’s certainly smaller than the diamond in my engagement ring. I think double halos can look really nice with colored center stones!
