I am 36 and never have been married before so you are not alone!  I am glad I waited too!!  I will be marrying the guy I fell in love with in High School.  I believe waiting makes for a more solid foundation in a relationship.  I honestly think getting married in your 20’s is too young.  (Even though alot of ladies do it.)

Enjoy the journey!!

@niasg1:  YEA,  me too!  i’ll be 50 when we marry.  Fiance will be 51.  I’m 48 now.  I have two daughters and we’ll get married after dd#2 graduates from high school.

I’m really nervous about losing my independence.   Oh, I’ve wanted this my whole life,  but i’ve always had “my” house and “my”responsibilities… nervous about sharing them.    how’s it working for you?

@mittenmaker:  I was a little nervous but I have had time to think about it and realized what I was holding on to was my thought of what I was losing. What I wanted I have and that is all that matter to me. When you are younger you want all the material things but when you get older those same things dont hold the same value. My Fiance is old fashion and doesnt want me to work so we both agreed to retired and spend our days making each other happy.

I hope you get to that place where you dont have any fear of the change and learn to just embrace it.

BIG HUG

I will be 37 when I get married in September.  I am much more settled and more comfortable in my skin now.  I’m so happy that I am doing this later in life because I definitely don’t think I was ready in my 20’s or even early 30’s to get married.  Good things come to those who wait!  I couldn’t be happier and more in love!

I’m 44.  I am so glad to see all the other first time brides around the same age!

I always said I didn’t want to get married until I was at least 30.  And I’m glad I’ve waited this long~now I have my stuff together.

I’ll be 34.5 I when we marry in Sep, Fiance is 39 and its the first time, engaged and married for both of us. No kids yet either. It just took us both time to find the right person. I really wasn’t really until now and Fiance is the pickiest person ever on everything so I feel very privileged that he waited until he found what he felt was the perfect person – me πŸ™‚

I’m 36 and Fiance is almost 37 and we are getting married in July. I waited for the right one and I am am so happy I did, because if I would have settled down with anyone in my 20’s we’d probably be divorced by now.  I’m more mature, confident and know what kind of a husband I was looking for.  We are 3 1/2 months away and I can’t wait to see his smile greeting me at the end of the aisle

I just turned 37 and will be a first time bride.

I was partnered before, but my partner was killed in a car accident in 2011.

I didn’t expect to meet anyone again at this stage of life, especially since I have no children and there is now the hope that my Fiance and I may have a family together one day.  I met my Fiance when I moved from the city back to my hometown to grieve.  Our parents actually knew each other but we had never met before.  They didn’t set us up, we met independently and found out that more than forty years ago, before 1 was born, our families lived 4 doors away from each other.  From the darkest night, came a new day.

We are still taking our time with the engagement, though, we will be married in October this year (Spring in Australia).

Here is my dress. I will be wearing it in a size 10 Aust (size 6 US)
