BF told me to start getting an idea of what kind of ring I want. I have my heart set on a 6-prong round solitaire set atop a simple gold band. I’ve found that I’m actually quite picky about the look of the prongs and side view. I prefer really straight prongs set on top of the band, not in the band. And I love the really thin claw type of prongs. Can all you 6-prong solitaire ladies please share photos of your lovely side profiles??

Exciting! Congratulations! I love your choice of a classic solitaire. So versatile and timeless. Here’s mine (2.73ct/9.03mm on size 5.75). E-ring setting is 1.8mm knife edge and prongs are super delicate (but I really don’t think you can go wrong with any prong type with a simple solitaire). Enjoy your ring shopping experience!

I think the width of the band is about 2.5 mm, platinum.

Here’s my side profile! It’s pretty much my favorite part — and it’s the angle I see my ring at the most, so it’s a good thing I love it!

This is my 1ct in platinum, size 4 and it’s about 2mm band (illusion of taper)

Love a gold solitaire!!! I became obsessed with the round 6 prongs as well! My ring is actually in rose gold but the middle band is my moms wedding band which is yellow gold. My engagement ring band has a knife edge that tapers towards the stone
