@Mukmuk:  This cycle I went last week (week before O), and I am going tonight (day after O), and I will go again next week.  My acupuncturist is having me come in once per week right now.

I saw someone in so cal wanting to try acupuncture…I went to the Tao of wellness in Santa Monica for completely different reason, but they have a lot of books, lectures, info about infertility/conception and acupuncture. I did like it there, although it was somewhat pricey.

i LOVE LOVE LOVE acupunture.  I’ve been doing it for 5 years now for ankle issues, carpal tunnel, tummy issues – and whatever else my girl feels like working on .  It’s great for relaxing and calming you down. My acupunturist with a lot of women who have difficulty getting preganat, and has had a lot of success, so i’d say it can’t hurt.  We haven’t even begun trying (not till Aug), and she already wants to start working on my “fertility” points.

It’s one of those things that’s definately NOT harmful; it can ony help you one way or another. At the worst, it’ll help you relax which is always good when TTC!

I go to acupuncture 2xs a week.  Apparently I go to community acupuncture but didn’t know (lol) and pay the regular price. Ah, the joys of living in NYC. Anyway, my fertility doc tells me studies have been done that actually show an increase in blood to the uterus and better lining.  She says she’s seen positive results with it, so now I go!  Good luck with deciding.  I think if you can afford it (by the way some insurances will reimburse for it), why not try?

I wanted to add that you can find local community acupuncture via http://www.pocacoop.com.

@Mukmuk:  I go on a weekly basis.  That’s all my Dr suggested.  I’m also on Chinese herbs.

@Mukmuk:  I just started this cycle and going weekly. My acu. said she needs to get baseline and next cycle onwards if I don’t get pg soon will probably only go twice, once before O and one after. Its so expensive in my area can’t afford 4x a month. I am taking the chinese herbs too.

@silver1:  Do you have community acupuncture available in your area? That’s what I do, and it is SO much cheaper.  Might be something to look into!

I’ve been going to acu since Dec so 4 month and taking herbs since Jan. I had an IUI in Dec and Jan (BFN). I took Feb, Mar and Apr off. While under the RE guidance, my cycle was more regular, but I was having break through bleeding and AF was horrible- heavy and clotty. Since going to acu and herbs, AF is perfect and my cycle has impoved. And at age 41 and 10 mos, I got a BFP naturally.

I highly, highly recommend acupucture and herbs!
