(Closed) Any advice for altering bodice and neckline?

How much a dress can be altered depends on the specific dress design, but pretty much anything could be altered to the sizes you’re talking about.

My dress was a size 10 (sample) and I’m about a 2-4 on top and it wasn’t a problem…it had bunchs of embroidery and beading on it too.

No…my dress didn’t need that.  It was fairly high waisted to begin with (not super high waisted, but it sits more at the actual waist than the dropped waists which can hit at funny places sometimes on us shorter girls Smile). 

From what I learned from bridal people and what I know from my sewing experience, the sort of alteration you’re talking about can certainly be done and probably wouldn’t be too difficult with a plain dress…sometimes it will cost a lot though (depending on the dress).

Just make sure to find a good seamstress!  If you’re looking for one in the LA area, I can give you the name of the woman I used and another place I almost used.
